Melissa, this is just like what we spoke about in the recent past, feeding the chickadees!! I had to give you an extra star for this one as it was so well written and brings back sweet memories of feeding these precious sweethearts. I took my gloves off and let them land right on my hand! I like how you inform the chickadee to wear his cape and cap as it looks like he does. Thanks for sharing this! I know you already earned an All Time Best but I wanted to do my part as well.

Hello, Kathleen. I am in awe that they actually perched on your finger. I have never had one on my skin before. I am grateful for the wonderful review and your support!! Thank you.

This is so charming and the picture is a perfect match. I especially like the first
stanza addressing how they both will be dressed for the feast. The rhyme is very
skillful and helps to set the cheerful tone.

A very well-written poem about feeding the chickadee. They become very tamed when we feed them from our hand or in our gardens with a bird feeder.

Your sweet poem reminds me of the finches that come to the feeder
I have handing from a tree. Wish I could get this close to them,
Your quatrains are rhymed and metered well and convey the scene well.
The picture adds to the enjoyment as well.

The magic of your words should make that chickadee eat right off your hand, Melissa. You do wonders with a rhyme. ;) Like I've told you before... You're good.

Oh, just so very sweet.
We put out sunflower seeds each day, and a mix....but the squirrels get the sunflower seeds.
That's ok, they gotta eat too.
Love the poem and pretty picture,
Blessings...

I love this poem, and I love the picture that accompanies it. We have a park near our house with a spot, Birdsong Trail, where visitors can hold seeds on their outstretched hand, and chickadees will alight and feast! This poem should be on a plaque at the start of this place!! Everyone would love it! Thank you for this day-brightener, Sugarray!
