For awhile we were dreaming how nice it would be to have snow, we had had temperatures exceeding 100 deg, and some 104 and on other day 117deg. Heh heh. What a debacle. An excellent literary conveyance ipof your frustration at the interminably long winter you're having. Great poem in quatrains, and rhyming couplets, you sowed lots of emotion into it, well done Cindy, blessings, Roy

Wish I could send you some of our snow. I don't know what would be worse. I've never experienced 117 degrees, and I wonder if I'm not better off with -40. At least I can light the fire and cuddle up with the cats. Glad you liked my poem. Thanks for reviewing.

It was only short lived, temps are more temperate 80 deg. I'll send them.

Delightful read and I absolutely love the artwork. I sit at my desk and eat Puffcorn and mourn our unexpected snow, cuddling one of my cats - I wonder how many of us there are? Will it ever end? Sure it will - sometime...maybe. But for now we sit and snack and pout. You really wrote a very good poem that can speak to people. Good job!

A very thoughtful poem written using rhymed quatrain verses. and quite the pleasure to read...I believe this was the coldest winter I can remember here in NewYork, and yes indeed, I am ready to watch the tulips rise, my favorite Cardinal, and his lady, to return..and feel the warmth of Spring's sun upon my face...

A lovely poem, well written, using very descriptive words...and of course the picture of my favorite bird..The Cardinal...
Thanks for sharing...

Warmly,
Victoria

We are more soggy in Southern California than frozen, but we too are yearning for spring! My oh my--forty below and a flat tire--talk about "woe"! I enjoyed your rhymed couplets and use of alliteration in the final quatrain to add to the intensity of feelings. Here's to the "robins and flowers! -Joan

Does it get very cold in NZ? Not like here, I'm sure. Hope you still get sunshine and flowers.

Hi Cindy, your Speaker could be me. I too am anxious for Spring to arrive, but at least I don't have to contend with a flat tire. Although your meter is flawless, I will never be a fan of AABB rhyming. Rod

This speaks though you also like snow and cold but you dislike extreme cold and snow and concern when temperature is minus thirty or more and feel winter woes; well said, well done. Keep Writing Inspire Changing -- DR ALCREATOR

We are in a deep freeze here in Calgary. I dream of spring too, but we won't see it until May. However, we do get chinooks that warm us up in between snow dumps. I'm ready for a chinook now.

I'm in Edmonton. Sometimes we even get snowstorms in May. I remember years when we had two feet of snow on the long weekend. Hopefully that won't happen this year and we see some sun in April.

I thought you were from Edmonton. I get mixed up with names. Hubs froze his toes when we were out and I thought I might write a poem about that lol! Watching a shark movie on tv and getting lazy.

Cindy, This is a very well written poem that let me know that you are truly ready for spring and all the beauty it has like the flowers, butterflies and green grass. You used great descriptive words and lovely art work with the picture of the red bird in the snow. I enjoyed reading and reviewing this. Blessings, Teri

This was a good read, Cindy Warren. You had a nice flow to it and the rhyme scheme was good. You also employed some good imagery. Good job and keep up the good work.
