Cindy: seems you had a rough day in the winter. You got
to express yourself with a poem and a snack. I like birds
and go outside and fill up my feeders. I dropped the lid and
had to stomp in four feet of snow. LOL. I feed the deer
pumpkins. It's fun to watch the animals while I'm warm inside.
Great photo from Treischel, my Minnesota friend. Have a great
Valentine's Day. flylikeaneagle

Thanks. I'm so glad you feed the animals in this cold weather. Hope it warms up soon.

I won't lie my seasonal depression has been a bit more apparent the past week. I had to work on Sunday and the person I worked with asked every person that came through our line, I work at a grocery store, if she they were ready for spring. I wanted to say ARE YOU DUMB?!?!? OF COURSE WE'RE READY FOR SPRING. But I bit my tongue. Honestly, I just want the ice to melt in our parking lot where we live. I don't like walking on ice all the time. And I won't lie when I read the line about it being forty below I went is that all? I mean we were sixty below with wind chill a couple weeks ago. It hit zero and we thought it was spring for 30 seconds. This winter took forever to get here and now I'm afraid it'll take forever to leave.

-60? That's awful. Where is Madison? I'm in Canada and it rarely gets below -40. Yes, everyone is ready for spring. Thanks for the five.

Madison is about 35-40 minutes from me. I'm in Wisconsin which is in the US. Today it was a balmy 30 degrees but it was super snowy.

This is such a lovely poem and I appreciate the humor... and I'm with you, anxiously awaiting the sounds, smells and colors of spring! Beautiful picture. Excellent job!

-Lovely image and nice presentation, Cindy.
-I like your poem very much.
-It has good rhyme, meter, and imagery
that create a smooth flow and paint
a vivid word picture of winter woes.
-I particularly like these images:
* "I'm desperate for scents of spring on the breeze"
* "Swift spring streams flowing in their beds"
-I like the stanzas about the flat tire,
and the conclusion, too.
-I really like your poem; thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the six! I'm sure we're all ready for this winter to be over. And I'll make sure I have another look at that line. Thanks again.

You are very welcome, Cindy. I live in NJ so we have nothing compared to up North.

Hello Cindy,
Canada is beautiful in the summer,
but -40 winter is for polar bears and Caribou, not people.
Nicely rhymed poem of springtime dreaming,
we just saw some robins a few days ago.
Smile, it could be worse, at least you've still got heat and a cuddle cat.
Well done, love the cardinal picture
Robert.

Thanks. Fortunately -40 is rare in Edmonton. It's common further north. I'll leave that area to the bears and Bigfoot. LOL

A great humorous story of the plight of bad weather and a flat tire. Something I dread all the time is a flat tire. I have a truck and no way can I change a tire. Luckily you were at home and not curled up in your vehicle, turning the car on and off for heat, and eating the crumbs out of a bag of chips or sipping a freezing cold coffee. Well that last isn't that bad. lol

Thanks for the six! Thankfully I had roadside assistance and the tire is fixed now. Yes, I'm very lucky I wasn't srranded on the road. I'd worked a 3:00-11:00 shift the night before so it could have been much worse. Glad you enjoyed my poem, and thanks again.

Well said! First off, I love cardinals so it was the perfect photo for your poem. I'm sure you've captured how every bird feels right now as well as humans. Bring on Spring!! LOL I also like the humor in the end. It seems we always have to wait. Was a joy to read. Great job!

I loved your images of spring, and with snow and cold, not
to mention flat tires that can't be fixed, I understand your
wishes for spring to come.
Curled on the couch with your cat and eating spring rolls though, sounds pretty good to me.(haha)
Great rhyme and meter throughout.
Hope you get your wish soon.

Thanks. The tire is fixed. Now all I need is for spring to come. I'm sure I'm not the only one ready for it.

Oh my gosh, this poem is so very clever and hilarious! I don't know what it's like to stuck indoors in such a manner being from Texas, but you sure made that feeling come to life for me.
Thanks and Blessings,
Joe

A trip to anywhere warm sounds pretty good to me right now. I think you should take a trip north and check out the snow. Not when it's -40, tho. Thenks for the wonderful review.
