This is a really nicely composed poem of longing for springtime. Finally it's here in Wisconsin after a long, cold winter and lots of rain. Love the image of the cardinal--a favorite. Last stanza sounds good to me--bring on the munchies. Marilyn

Thanks. It really was -40 when I wrote that. I'm glad spring is finally here too. Only problem is I have to work off all the munchies.

All time best and recognized!!! Good for you. . .absolutely moved me. I've been living in Washington state for the last 12 years and recently moved south to sunshine, beautiful flowers and birds singing (of course the birds don't care, they were in Washington too) simply because, when February arrives, I start looking for sunshine.

Thanks. Moving south to the sunshine sounds like a good idea to me. We have sunshine today, but it's still -15.

LOL! I've been there. This is a sweet poem Cindy. I too am ready for Spring. It's sunny today but too cold to enjoy being outside.

I loved the rhyme and the sympathy for all the frozen people.

This is such a cute poem! It flows beautifully. Today was a day just like that where I live so it was uplifting to read this story today. Well done!!

Appreciate the details and humor too in your poem. Writing the real is a goal I also have. Did you make your own spring rolls? My sis and hubby lost their water the other day. We have over 10 inches of snow - imagine machine digging up that well. Thankfully the problem was small. Great poem

Thanks. No, I didn't make the springrolls. I bought a big bag of them at Costco. Glad you liked my poem.

Nice rhyme - I believe poetry should rhyme - and meter (as if I knew, but it reads easy to me). And, my sentiments exactly on the cold and snow! I am a Texan and every hot summer I swear that I will never curse the cold again, but I do - with the first chill! May Spring and the AMA find you without delay!

Thanks for the six! Fortunately, the tire is fixed now, but it's not any warmer. The forecast is more cold and more snow. Go ahead and curse the cold. Everyone else does. LOL

What a great convergence of words, Cindy.
A great flow and rhythm...
Just as an fyi...where I live, it was 80 degrees today ;o) Moved here to get away from all that cold.
The "Recognized" and "All Time Best" awards are well deserved.

Thanks for the six! And I'm coming to visit. Until spring. And bringing the cats. LOL You were smart to leave all this cold and snow behind.

This is a really energetic poem. You have such a good rhyme and fast paced flow to this. Your story in this is one I can certainly relate to, looking forward to spring but will just have to wait with the winter time blues! Thank you for sharing this.
