More than one time my wife and I have been up all night comforting our babies when the were not feeling well. Your poem touched me deeply with remembrance. It was difficult then but that's what we do out of bonded love of our children. Thank you. Well done .

This is true. A baby can bring you joy even when you lose sleep. This is an adorable 5/7/5 poem for the After Midnight 5/7/5 contest.

Best wishes and Good luck

I just had my daughter, husband and 6 month old daughter, stay with me for 5 weeks after returning to BC from 3 years in England. They have moved on to northern Alberta now but this poem speaks so much for my grand daughter trying to adapt to all the changes. She is a happy baby and not very whiney, so it wasn't too hard for all to give it a try and let mom get some sleep.

good luck in the contest

That is wonderful. I lost my beautiful daughter in May and now have her 5 year old. I grieve everyday but she left a reminder of love that I treasure. She also had an 18 year old that I love deeply. I stay sad most of the time but am surviving for the little one and grown up one. I would give anything to hold my baby just one more time.

but you have a part of her that is with you everyday through her daughter. Her spirit is there, I'm sure of it, maybe you could try to acknowledge her spirit and find some peace, I feel she is very proud to have you be the one there for her kids. I'm sure sharing stories about her to her daughter will be comforting for both of you. bless you

This is a very precious contest entry, and a perfect 5-7-5. I love the photo.
I especially love your words; reading them I could hear and feel the softness of the voice.
Who of us cannot remember all the nights we spent awake with our little ones.
This is a great contest entry!

What a cute response to this After Midnight prompt- what parent doesn't know what that night time ritual in the land of baby hood is all about - to be savoured perhaps !!!! years later !!!

What a sweet five-seven-five poem. Sometimes it can be a tummy-ache, and sometimes it is just a case of night-owlishness. Either way, Mummy and Dad can lose sleep. Adorable picture. Good job.

Hi,

Oh, what a sweet poem.

And a delightful image you've selected to compliment your verse, which works very well here.

But, one thing for your consideration: your last line has six, rather than five, syllables.

Hence, the 4-star rating. The contest rules call for 5-7-5. (If you correct it to conform to 5-7-5, I will definitely increase the rating!)

Best of luck in the contest.

Jan

This is a good 5-7-5 entry in the contest. The picture you chose to go with your words is an excellent choice. May your weekend be blessed, Patricia
