This is exceptional!!! I use to have a really short fuse, and as hard as it was to do, I finally learned to control it. I can totally relate to all the emotions felt within the poem, with anger at the center. It use to be the harder I tried at not expressing anger, the worse it would get. I was so bad :( I had to do a lot of praying about it.
I'm so glad the Bible says that 'when you are angry, do not sin'. That tells me its okay to be angry at things God would be angry at. It's how we handle anger that counts.
You have an awesome talent for describing emotion. See how you got me running my mouth?
Great contest entry!

I enjoyed reading your work. It flowed well and had exceptional rhyming.

The only thing I would critique is this..... do you think in the very line you could eliminate the word...'up'?

It seems to throw off the rhythm a little.

Whoa. That's dark...but it's also very well done. Your rhymes are spot on and not forced, and the cadence just flows. I even like the picture you chose to go with this. Good luck to you with this entry.

I think you've captured the pain that people who are angry suffer. They are the victims of their own emotion. Well-crafted poem. Wish you luck in the contest.

This is a very good exploration of unbidden anger. It is such a sad thing to inflict unjustified anger on anyone, especially if you yourself do not know what triggers the outburst. No one will ever be able to deal with it, as the only way to stop something happening is the understand why. I suffered psychological abuse in a previous relationship from someone who could not control his anger, and trying to discuss it just set him off again, so it became a topic to be avoided and therefore repeated because there was no resolution to the problem
If this is your personal story, I wish you love and understanding to help you stop hurting those you love with uncontrolled anger. Of course everyone gets angry from time to time, but out of control is too destructive.

Hello there, my friend. This is a fantastic poem you've penned here. Emotions can get the best of us at times and do the most regretful things. I wish you peace and happiness. ~Kerry

Good job on this. You have nice rhyming and flow of words. You describe the destructive nature of unchecked anger well in this, an emotion when left unchecked can ruin lives. Anyone can change if they ask for help, miracles can happen. Thank you for sharing.

I like this poem written about anger. You've done an awesome job of going into great detail about this particular emotion. I believe that an angry person that hurts with words has been hurt by words perhaps. I think that they have allowed all of the hurt they've experienced to fester in them. Since they haven't forgiven those that have hurt them and released the hurt, the hurt still resident in them is released on others. It's usually those closest to them. That's just what I think. You've done a very superb job with presenting this emotion to us. Very well done!

I believe you have started the first step of therapy... By first admitting that you have a problem. Seek help....from a counsellor at church or a psychologist.

As regard the poem itself, it is an exceptional poem because it is very fluent in its expression, it rhymes very well and evokes one's emotions. I can visualize the occurrences just by the way you have expressed yourself.

A good entry for the contest, I believe.

This poem is the epitome of what a feeling poem should be. Nice cadence and I could feel your remorse. Anger is such a powerful emotion. Capable of motivating and also harm. Good and bad. Great poem. You have my vote!
