Debra, yes - you have done an excellent job in expressing how writing poetry is a work of intricate art and caring thought. Everyone on this site should understand these thirteen short but meaningful syllables. Well done and best of luck in the competition. ~DD

Your "Lucky 13" writing prompt entry flows well and makes a statement that we all aspire to. We try to do the best we can and just once in awhile, we format "Words" that are "intricately woven with precision and care", and it's a really good feeling. Best of luck in the contest.

I am reading all of the entries in the lucky 13 contest. I've been through several, and this is my favorite by far. I like that you developed your metaphor using the photo and title. That's smart. And, it's a good metaphor to start with. That's why I like to write and read the short entries. Good ones, like this, are woven with so much care. They are examples of power over words.

Thank you, Christine, for your lovely feedback.
I may have read something along the same lines in the past, but I deliberated long and hard over every word whilst composing this piece! Best wishes :)

oh, now that is poetry in both words and picture -- a beautifully crafted thirteen syllables that should do well at the polls! :) Thank you for sharing! :) :) Yvette

Hi,
This is a great contest entry, what with the image you've selected, depicting how our words are tied together in a proverbial web.
I don't see a single thing amiss here to suggest for revisions.
Thank you so very much for sharing your work and best of luck in the contest voting booth!

The picture you chose to accompany your poem greatly enhances the presentation of your words. Thirteen syllables is hardly enough to work with.Good luck in the contest.

Thank you, Earl, for your good luck wishes. Much appreciated!
You are right - writing a poem with an allowance of just 13 syllables is somewhat of a challenge!
Kind regards :)

This short poem accurately describes what writing--for most poets--is all about. Indeed the process is a "Labour of Love" or we would not work with such "precision and care." Rod
