I love the title, "Touch." The artwork is an excellent choice, with the hand in black and white, and with the bright red heart, held onto the finger with a chain. Your first line is my favorite. "You saw my darkness" is almost whispered, to a personal love, and sets the tone for the rest of the piece. You say a lot in a 5-7-5 poem. This is well written and is very romantic. Thank you for sharing.

It?s taken me a long time to expunge my narcissistic husband?s damage. Writing poetry has enabled me to get a view of the real me instead of the aweful person he had me almost believing. Keep believing you are NOT the negatives you were abused by.

That mistake has caused me a lifetime of grief. Your advice is sound. Looking inward is the way.
Open is the only way I've ever written poetry. It is one of my strengths.

It?s like we have to give ourselves the permission to be ourselves first. Then any validation from outside of our real self is bonus.
