Big grin here. I counted twenty syllables in this poem. Now, where is my white wine and whipped cream? LOL! A twist of lemon essence on top.... Yum!

Many thanks for stopping by to review this. I shrink from calling it a poem, but I'm delighted that you found it to your taste! Best wishes, Tony

Hah! What a clever 20 Syllable Poem. Wonderfully written with worthy word work. That aluring alliteration, astounding. The recipe a marvelous metaphor. Good luck in the contest.

I don't believe I've ever seen anything quite so delicious sounding and looking as your Syllabub Recipe, Tony. A clever idea and a fine poem to boot. Let's hope the Contest Committee is hungry during their deliberations because this will win them over for sure.
Best of luck.

Craig asked me if brandy would do instead of white wine. I'm sure it would! If I'd only thought of it, I could have maintained the alliteration by having an aristocratic twat ordering a 'bwandy'! er ...perhaps not!

You taught me a new word (you always teach me new words in your posts) and syllabub is an interesting one. I thought you were just making fun of the required number of syllables for the poem. Great alliteration of w-words in your poem about writing a poem!

Syllabub is a delicious summer dessert - better with lemons than with syllables, though!

Hi Tony, what a pleasure to read this charming poem from you today. Its filled with playful wit at the expense of syllable counters everywhere. Nicely penned.

Thanks, Pam. Down with syllable counters! Up with syllabub!

Yay, a poem from you, at last! :)
I missed getting into your ongoing novel, until it was too late, and I've been hoping you would continue to post some poetry. It's been a while!
What wonderfully welcome, wickedly witty alliteration you used in line three and beyond.
I enjoyed this humorous poem as much as I think I'd enjoy that delicious looking syllabub. Would brandy work as a substitute for the white wine?
Good job, Tony. Best of luck in the contest.

I'm sure that brandy would be equally good, if not better! Try it and see what you think.
This is the first poem I've posted since September, so I'm a bit rusty. Thanks for your encouragement!
The novel still takes precedence though - otherwise I'll never get it finished. 45,000 words so far, so I'm on the downhill run.

You have fulfilled the prompt in a clever, unexpected (but delightful) way--
in the form of a recipe. You have made wise use of all your syllables. The art
work looks yummy.

Hi Tony, a clever recipe in exactly 20 syllables. An Original idea - sounds nice. Fortunately you found a pudding that is fairly flexible regarding ingredients. Good piece and a keen contender I would think. Good Luck - Dorothy ps. How slow am I - Syllable/Syllabub, just dawned on me. LOL! Not a contender - a winner I should think. D.
