YM,

Nice. I can see how a lot of people would want to read this poem and then emulate the actions of it. *smile* Just go take a long walk on the shore. Release their pent-up frustrations and breathe for a while. I've heard breathing is rather good for you. haha!

Thanks and good luck!

Hi, Yvette,

Oh, I'm so glad I do not go to work with that blasted briefcase anymore!!

My life is so relaxing and full of the things I want to do that I will never go back. Your wonderful nonet did allow the body to relax if read slowly and deliberately.

Thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest,

~MP~

Lovely narrowing nonet that takes the reader to a slowing down motion that allows you to breathe. Fun use of text differences to show smaller steps like the stepping stones in a zen garden. Enjoyed the nonet and image

You know, your nonet ends with the title of one of my published books of poetry. :)) But more importantly, even without your notes, I read this wonderful poem as you instruct. Weird, huh? No, not really. Your very first line establishes the mood, IMHO. At least, it did for me, maybe because the whole poem describes my state of being right at this moment. :)

The world seems heavy
Its grip too tight

Well said. We've all been there, with no energy to break free. Like being stuck in a trap that keeps us from running, dancing, and enjoying life. It usually passes, though we often need help to move on.

This work has reached the exceptional level

I just watched Shen Lim, the magician, on America's Got Talent. He made me think that you do magic with words. This poem is extraordinary. I love the second line. Take my life's burdens for just a while, but you say that so compellingly. You got this girl. Unless, the committee is tired of you winning. Otherwise, you got this.

You're just the smile I needed this morning, MQ -- thank you , THANK YOU!! :) ;) Yeah, for the stars, but most of all for just being out there with your upbeat attitude!! ;0 ;) Having one of those weeks where I'm convinced another part of the world will be conquering America because our teenagers are so damned coddled....! :) ;) Pretty sure people must think I was/am a mean mom making my boys stand up for themselves (not me or their dad doing it) and, starting in their early teens, handling their own questions with authority figures (oh, I was there, just made them do it).......SIGH. Anyway, I promise to stop, but please know that I covet your encouragement and your ability to put a smile on my face!! :) ;) Have a wonderful week -- enjoy the mild weather -- the sun's peeking out once in a while, but at least I have the windows open to get all the winter germs out! :) ;) Take care! :) :) Vette

You may not see it, but you think like I do. I am not gifted enough to put my thoughts down as you do, but, if I could, my words would be very similar to your words. I'm often grateful to you for saying what I would like to say.

Yvette, you did a very good job of crafting this Nonet for the contest. Everyone needs to take time to be alone and think... your verse supports that necessary need. Well done and good luck.

YM this is a very well done nonet and the reading one line at a time makes perfect sense to me. I can see you put a lot of thought into this work. Patricia

Wow, Patricia! :) ;) Thanx so much for your wonderful comments -- sometimes ya just gotta sit down and 'take the load off'....breathe long and deep. :) ;) Thanx for stopping by and have a wonderful evening, ma'am! :) ;) Yvette

You captured the mood perfectly of a person who is on the precipice, at their wit's end, stressed out, can't take it anymore, neck and shoulders tightly wound up, and contemplating escape. But breathing is a built-in destresser, if we would only let ourselves do it more and deeply. Thank you for this nonet and best of luck in the contest.

Thanx so much for your wonderful reflections on my poem, Stephanie -- and, yes, you definitely got the message there -- gotta just stop and breathe deeply ... alone and unhindered with nothing but the air! :) ;) Thanx for stopping by this evening, ma'am -- so good to hear from you! :) :) Have a great evening! :) ;) Yvette
