Another timely subject. This very controversial issue caused some ill feelings 16 years ago when my daughter and son-in-law decided not to immunize their twin children. What they did not realize at the time, was the threat this decision could have in their children's later life. The ramifications of such a decision are, unfortunately, starting to manifest in today's society.

Hi Brett. Your Cracker Croakers focuses on some important social topics that are discussed in the news and appropriate for current events. Interesting conversation between the two hosts and guests, if any.

I agree that parents need to know they are endangering their child (and other children) by not getting required vaccinations unless there is a good medical reason not to do so.

As an aside, I notice that you don't usually reply to your reviewers. Is there a reason for this? How do you get rid of your reviews in your mailbox if you don't answer them? This may be a trick I'm unaware of, but would like to know. Thank you. Marilyn

I am currently limited to about one good hour of computer time a day. I fully intend to respond to all the reviews I have received. Glad you enjoyed this edition of Cracker Croakers. Wondered why you'd stopped reading my postings for a period of time? Happy you have returned to doing so again.

I have a nephew who had a reaction from a measles shot and started having convulsions. He had so many he developed autism. He is in his forty's now. He lived, but was never a normal person. It was heartbreaking to see such a beautiful little boy completely change like that. I think there was a rash of bad shots in that period of time, hence the lack of immunizations as a follow up. Fear of that happening to their child.
My little Nancy came down with the measles when she was three. I had many nights sitting up with her holding her in a rocking chair so afraid of losing her. She made it, but it was touch and go. Thank God he spared her. Nancy:)

As a nurse in a past life, I enjoyed reading this interview session. People should get their children vaccinated. You shouldn't trifle with measles. They are dangerous. The scriptwriter has don a good job of asking the appropriate questions and giving good answers to them. Don't think the picture appropriate for measles, but probably the best available. Good job.

I have been trying to tell people the illegals coming across the Mexico border present a possible health crisis, as they are not vetted before they get here, and we have no idea what diseases they are carrying. I don't know what our laws are for vaccination of those who come in legally. What we need is a strong law on that, and that law strongly enforced. I listened to a Dr. who had degrees out the wazoo saying we were living on borrowed time before the flu mutated again and gave us something like what happened in 1918. It mutated and took out the young and the old. Then it mutated again and took out those in the prime of life. He says we are overdue.

Brett, you did a very good job with this subject and the construction of the Cracker Croakers episode. I did not know all of these facts about vaccinations, measels, parental rights, etc. Good write.

Ok, so this one hits close. I work in pharmacy, and I have a child. Whats great about this edition is that you back this up with numbers and it shows how following the advise of an untrained celebrity can lead to catastrophe.
It scares me though that a doctor can sign a waiver for the parent. Have you ever seen how easy some doctors cave in to a yelling parent? I'm lucky my sons pediatrician doesn't.
