I think this is perhaps one of the best poems you have written ... or at least, that I have read. I am so glad I stumbled on this because I really like it. I think it is solid in style as well as in truth. I hope you will send it out to be published. It is definitely worthy.

That's a most generous thing for you to say, MM -- especially coming from one of the most consistent practitioners of kindness in our little community. As for myself, while my skills in practice might sometimes be found wanting, I think I'm a reasonable observer. Most grateful for the lovely comments and shining rating. Oh, and congratulations on your great win in the nonet contest :) Craig

I like your nonet Craig and can't see why it wasn't appropriate for the contest. I really like the sentiments in this one, if you leave this earth have loved and been loved I think you've had a good life. Enjoyed it on this still raining day.
cheers,
valda

We've had quite a bit of rain here, too, Valda. Nowhere near what you've had, or what you're used to, but by our standards it's been good -- my guess is maybe even 10-15 mm. We needed it, you probably did not. Many thanks for the lovely review,
    Craig

This nonet, Mostly Love, has the proper nine-to-one descending syllable lines and has a very nice theme which ought to have been in that contest.

This is such a gentle, kind and loving poem. I know someone who these lines fit like a glove....I'm glad you shared this even though it didn't "fit the bill" for the nonet contest. Such a surprising wonderful rhyme "above and glove". It catches you musically and you read on eagerly. Thanks.

Hi Craig. I think this is a wonderful Nonet and should be a contest entry. It flows well with a nice theme. I like the dynamic illustration. A success all the way around. Marilyn

Personally I think this one should've been your entry into the nonet contest, but you'se the writer and you make those decisions.

This is quite lovely in its understated tones that speak clearly of what rises above as the crowning glory of achievement--kindness.

Excellent write.

It was meant to be a tribute to someone, and I didn't want to "benefit" from it being so, in the unlikely event it earned a prize. Weird, maybe, but it seemed right at the time. I'm not sure how many picked it as such. Thanks so much Gloria, for your kindness, in the lovely comments and delightful rating :)

    Cheers,
    Craig

This nonet shows the way all of us should live our lives. Sadly many do not let kindness guide them to make the world a better place.

I think this would have been a good entry. But you have to follow your own feelings.

Keep writing

I like this Nonet, Craig. I think it is very appropriate for the contest, but the humorous one is good too. Great job on crafting this and instilling meaning into your words.

A very well-written heartfelt and thought-provoking Nonet. It is so true, great achievements mean very little when we don't have love in our lives, it will be a lonely painful life.

What a nonet! You've become the master/of the form in my book, Craig Richards./
The way this poem is written, it/looks effortless to create/something smooth that rhymes too./Did you notice I/write etheree/not nonet?/Good, eh?/Yay!

(HAhahahahahahaha.) You are a showoff. All kidding aside, Craig, this is another beauty. In fact, now I'm going back to read the other one to see which one should have been the entry in MY opinion. :)))

I wouldn't have felt right making this a contest entry, as it's basically a tribute poem. Of course, it was written by the time I thought about that, so I had to do another one!

Thanks so much for the wonderful encouragement and the delightful rating, Dawn. Hope I picked the right one in your eyes lol
