Congratulations on completing your book and distributing it. I enjoyed the charming photograph you selected to establish the mood for this chapter. Yes, our plans often go awry and we all could be happier. I am sorry to learn Harriet was injured, but I am glad Bea learned a lesson about noticing the beauty surrounding us. Cheers- Joan

This actually happened along with the name mix-up. Poor Harriet/Ozzie looked terrible. He'd actually hit by a car. But he did heal well. I'm glad you have enjoyed my book. A little more then I will begin posting my 2nd book, yet to be published. Thank you for you supportive review.

I am so ancient it ill behooves me to be rating a book for the youthful set, but I'll do so anyway...you create a nice world, where animals get along...my fifteen-year-old cats can't meet on the porch without slapping each other...excellent post.

I am so glad you chose to review this Chap. It is written in the Winnie the Pooh genre. It is for all ages. It is on the market for children but has spiritual lessons for all of us

What a cute story. Poor Bea got it half right with the name. I wonder how many people will "get" Ozzie and Harriet reference? No matter, it's a good story and one that teaches us that friendship overcomes many obstacles.
Good luck with your second book!

I actually made that error with the name. I was sure his owner told me her name was Harriet. I was so surprised that I had switched it in my head. I don't even think I thought of the connection when I was writing the book. I just wrote the way it had happened. I think many think I put that in for the irony. They say "I don't think the kids will get this, but maybe the adults will." There are probably plenty of adults which won't get it.
Thanks for the fun review.

Children will like this; so will their parents. Bea might by nosy, but having a good heart does help make it better. Scruffles is a good name for a tom kitten. It just fits. I'm looking forward to reading more of this book. Adorable picture. Good job.

A lovely read as you close out the story of these friends and their antics. Good job on character development and narrative descriptions.
All the best,

I hadn't read any earlier chapters, but enjoyed this latest chapter you shared. There were many chuckles as I read. I can't help but think that the animal characters were portraying real people that you know. It's great news that your book will be on Amazon. Congratulations!

Thank you for your involved review. You are very perceptual. Yes, this actually is an allegorical autobiography. Bea represents me and all of my idiosyncrasies. My dear dog, also Bea aka Sweet Puppy just passed at age 17. My cat Scruffles passed about 12 years ago at age 20. There was actually a next door cat whose name I confused as accounted. This is my spiritual journey.

Liz--
Thanks. Mostly, I guess, the adventures of some cats. Maybe more? I noted a few things, below:
She () making sure that no other creature disturbed them. Something missing here -- "was?"
Bea sometimes would dance a little too. I guess I just want to know "a little too...what?"
Best

Maybe because I haven't read any of your prior chapters, the focus of this one perplexes me. It seems like a lot is brought up - Bea's need to get involved in others' business, Bea's contentment thanks to Timothy, Scruffles's tendency to not want to socialize with anyone but Harriet, Harriet's absence and re-appearance, Bea's 'notes to self'--and then finishes with Scruffles thinking that Harriet's name is Ozzie, a reference no child reading this will get. The picture of the kitties is adorable.

Thank you for your comprehensive review. It is difficult to step into the near end of a story. If you checked out Chapters 1,3 & 7 you could get a sense of this story and how healing it can be.

You're right about that. I'll check out the others and maybe want to change my rating. (I'm brand new to FS and just learned how to do that!) Thank you for your suggestion.
