A very well written heartfelt poem. Sometimes we need protection so that we don't get hurt, especially our vulnerable heart needs armour to shield it from heart ache caused by careless people around us.

However strong your external amour(armour) is

An interesting twist on the concept of chivalry. Not fighting on behalf of his lady love, but rather fighting falling in love. In which case, cupid's arrows are made to pierce that armor.

This is a beautifully penned piece of poetic art, my friend. I enjoyed the theme of knights in their armor as the days of chivalry always lend themselves well to the theme of love. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

Chivalry is waning, I think the modern term would be fear of commitment! Your reviews are always appreciated, thank you so much

the armour picture is stunning. I enjoyed your poem even though you mentioned dragons; to keep the spirit and soul in a dungeon like hell. Sounds like a battle that's going to take place. Good writing.

I like the comparison of the Knight's armour to the armour we sometimes put around ourselves to hide from hurt, but which ultimately hurts us more.
the dragon of fear which lurks so deep - like that. Great comparisons and a great free verse Trisha enjoyed it.
cheers,
valda

I think you took yourself into a fantasy world here of knights, maidens and dragons Trisha! Perhaps you were hoping for your knight to come to you? A fun read, love Dolly x

This work has reached the exceptional level

I absolutely adore this! I love how the armor symbolizes the walls we build around our mental selves to keep us safe. The fear and love dragons were such creative ideas! I love how you use the 'maiden' as a way of saying you can still fall in love even if you're scared. Also the line 'as dragons can also be slayed at night' was an amazing metaphor. Passion overcomes terror after all. I can not get enough of how creative this idea is! Amazing work! Definitely worth six stars. I have no doubt about it.

This is a very intriguing write, Trisha, and I can't help but wonder if you wrote it specifically for a particular (your??) knight who hides his battles/emotions down deep behind the armor....either way, it is beautiful and I thank you for sharing it (him??) with all of us! :) ;) Yvette :)

-Very good image and presentation, Trisha.
-A good comparison to a knight in armor
trying to slay dragons, and the challenges of
falling in love.
-The imagery is good, and you show his
dilemma very well:
"Love creeps into each crevice of armour plate."
-Good advice and conclusion.
-Thanks for sharing.
