Well done with the topic info and past history. I'm and old Soldier" don't ask, don't tell." In some ways its like sticking your head in the sands. But being African American I can relate to serving your country in the face of discrimination. And I am a Christian.
You have chosen a tough topic. This is the first I've read of it. Just getting back. I would suggest adding some background response from the audience; a few boos or clapping at different answers. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Brett. From what I understand about it is the problem of the gov being responsible for paying for the expensive transgender surgery for those who want it. That's huge. It would cost a fortune. That's the main and only reason for the ban as far as I know. Marilyn

Wow! A Controversial subject. It is playing around with what God did in creating men and women. I feel like this question of sexuality is being forced by particular sections. I think one thing about all this is a lack of male models in families.

There's plenty of facts, here, Brett. Interesting facts for me to read as I am not aware of military regulations on this, but ... This is a TV talk show. At the moment it is rather dry, a bit like an open-university programme. On a TV talk show, I'd expect some sort of studio debate, with guest from opposite sides of the argument weighing in. You touch a tiny bit on the controversy, here, with Carlton's remark:
'The transgender question permitting them to serve in the military is not about national security or unit cohesion. And, that brings us back to Square One with the real question being is the military's top priority to protect America or is it to help transgenders on their path to self-actualization?'
That would have been a good starting point for a debate? What are the reasons against? What are the reasons for?
I think this is a great theme, I just think it could go further.

Appreciate the suggestions. One problem I have to cope with is each edition becoming too long. It already seems on FanStory any more most people will only read short works and poems they can rapidly pick up quick Funny Money with. Any recommendations you could offer along those lines would be appreciated. Maybe one topic for the week and discuss it thoroughly in detail? A lot of these editions I agree could become hotly debated issues.

Oh. I know THAT problem. You could try spacing your scripts into 'parts' - so, say, end one part with, 'see you after the ad break' or something, then back to it. Your topic for the week would work well, too. Even if you stick to the two hosts, there's nothing to stop them representing different views. You've hinted here that Candice knows Carlton's views, but the rest of us don't get to hear them, really. You can include all the facts about the military regulation on this within a debate, so you needn't end up adding too much, but, yes, making a 'topic of the week' would definitely work.
