Good work on the syllable count. Lovely explanation of what the holiday means, it could be a terrific sales pitch. Enjoyed reading about carnival magic in Venezia. Lovely picture enhances the experience.

    I don't know if you have ever visited Italy but if you get the occasion you defintely should go to see ...Carnevale a Venezia ...which always falls on the day before Ash Wednesday.

    The surroundings , the old buildings ; the beautiful elaborate costumes and colourful masks make you feel as if you made a leap back in time.

    I hope you enjoyed the video too.

You have said a lot with this short poem. And the accompanying photos are awesome. Love the word 'phantasmagorical". The adjectives you chose set the mood perfectly for a celebration of Carnevale di Venezia.

    If you evey ️come to Italy you should definitely try to visit Venezia during Carnevale....it's like taking a leap into the past : the beauty of the costumes and the architecture compliment each other.

    Thank you Dolly. I feel that Carvevale a Venezia is a must see for everyone at least once in their lives.

    Spain, like Italy, has many "feste" throughout the year. I'm glad I was able to catch the magic of this particular festa in my wee poem.
