This is a fun contest and your offering maintains the spirit of the thing with this humorous lament about your weather. Meanwhile, I luxuriate in mid-summer sun. Eat your heart out.

The meter is not perfect, but that was not required for this contest - more importantly, the rhyme and general structure is fine and you have a nice punchline.

Good luck.

Thanks for your review, Steve -- glad you enjoyed this fun rainy write ... be sure to catch some rays for those of us who seem to only be able to catch rains instead.....hey! But it's supposed to be in the teens and SNOW tonight! :) Gotta love the South...if you don't like the weather one day...just wait a few hours, it's sure to change! :) :) LOL! :) Thanx again -- have a wonderful week ahead! :)

This hemispherick limerick, Northeastern Alabama, has the proper structure and, I'm afraid you haven't heard, the sun's taking another weekend.

A very well-written Limerick about the weather conditions in northeastern alabama where it is cold, grey and wet. There is still hope that the sun will return in a week or two.

I live in Southeastern Ohio, Anonymous Poet, and I'm here to tell ya, the weather here ain't no better than it is where you are.
-6 degrees outside right now ... it's ridiculous.
This isn't the Antarctic.
This is Ohio, for cyin' out loud!

Isn't this 'global warming' insane?! :) ;) Sorry, just a poke, but, like y'all there, it's been ridiculously cold and wet this winter...oh! and wet! Did I mention wet? LOL!! :) :) Thanx for the review, sir! :) ;)

This is a SUPERB contest entry. You clearly (with excellent rhyme) described the weather in Alabama ... so much rain, causing issues, and who knows? maybe the sun will come out two weeks from now?
Loved also your presentation ... great artwork, loved the background color and font.
Excellent :)

I haven't even heard of this poetry form, but I know that I enjoyed this limerick. That's about all I can really say about it because even the contest instructions about certain forms are not always reliable. Good luck!

Just a good, ol' fashioned limerick, but it was kinda fun to write a poem that I wasn't counting this and watching that length etc! :) :) So glad you enjoyed! :) You're awesome for taking the time on this and the others -- thank you for being such a wonderful online friend! :) :)

This is a cute limerick with a well-worded punch line that turns an otherwise serious poem into a humorous one. This seems to follow all the rules of the contest, in terms of relative line length and injecting humor. I wish you luck in the voting.

I just love this category. Your poem sounds like my neck of the woods, Oregon, rain and dark...you did a great job with this Made the reader feel the wet...go out and buy waders.
I wish you the very best in the contest...and I like your artwork.

Yep, I know first hand the truth of this limerick. I'm freezing in this grayness. Is that your property? That looks so much like the land around my parent's house. It was in Monrovia.
Anyway. I was searching for your novel chapters and discovered this gem. I loved it.

Naah ... just a google one. But both the Flint and the Paint Rock are waaaaaaay over their banks right now -- all this rain is insane, isn't it?! :) Glad you enjoyed, MQ -- thanx for the read/review -- always appreciated! :) ;) Take care down there! :)
