Nice piece well written tension and humor in just the right spots. Some thanked for your consideration,
Blood is gushing from the gaping wound in their legs should read wounds
"Sure is, Sergeant." Should read are as he is referring to two
"Yeah, well you two was with him when he committed these crimes which leads me believe you were a part of it." Was should be were unless your is using a dialect in that case the were at the end should be was I hope that makes sense.

Wow, this is getting more and more intense. I could not put it down. I was wondering how the shootout was going to end. you have introduced another character into the mix... poor young man. This is very well written and definitely keeps the attention of the reader.
