Ouch--that's quite a conclusion to chapter one! I think the old Indian is onto something. I like the idea of the crows being an omen, and the picture you selected certainly reinforces it. I have a hunch that James will get his comeuppance. Smiles- Joan

Excellent introduction to a most suspense filled short story. The conflict is taking shape, as are the characters and of course a murder of crows often portends something ominous.

Looking forward to where you take us with your fine story telling here. :)

Good first chapter to this story. Sounds like it could get interesting and with your writing capabilities I know it will. Who knows which way the story will turn, well I wouldn't make any attempt to guess. Thanks for sharing, God bless and have a beautiful day.

Poor crows. They get the blame for everything, even curses. It appears Bea's life is going to be full of strange things happening, and she believes it's because the Indian sent crows.

oh, dear, the curse of the murder of crows...I've often marveled at the different ways groups of animals are labeled, but murder of crows has got to be one of the most unsettling. ;) ;) So, we have Bea and Jim who have lost each other some where along the way and Bea whose upset the spirits with her failure to apologize...maybe...:) ;) I'm likin' it so far! :) Thanx for sharing, Dawn, look forward to more! :) Yvette :)

Well, you got me right off the bat with "Bea" and "Beatrice," my mother's name and the reason for the beaspeas. Image is striking. Your writing is descriptive and interesting. I'm not sure where you are going with this yet. That will be determined as we go along. Marilyn

Another pot-boiler (pun intended) and another wait for the next episode. I am part Native American and can't wait to see what happens. Crows are harbingers of doom - so we will see. Love to read your work.
