An outstanding beginning...full of mystery. I lived in NYC for a while in the 1960s. I was nineteen and flew there alone to be a career girl. I was able to get a job at CBS as a legal secretary. It was okay, but there was no family around and that was not good, so I went back home to Florida. I am eager to read the next part, Yvette!

Hello Yvette :)
What the heckity heck is going on?!
I really enjoyed reading the prologue to your book. The start is dramatic and harrowing. Poor Maggie (I love how her dad calls her Magpie - sweet).
Somehow, she's ended up in another era, brought on by what? Her scream? A phrase? Trying to figure it out.... Looking forward to reading on, you have my attention!
Best wishes, Debra :)

O.K you got my attention, I am rushing to the next chapter. Poor girl, so young and abandoned by her own father, that's the top of cruelty for an innocent child. Thank you for sharing and good luck.

What an interesting turn of events!

"She didn't want a new home. She wanted her home." How true the words.

Looking forward to reading more of your book.

I've noticed a few other reviews with your name on them so... Hooray! you've already begun finding yourself in this fantasy.... just remember that is that: a fantasy -- everything might not be as it appears at first blush... :) Especially with the nutty blonde at the helm! :) Thanx so much for throwing your hat in with me, R-S - hang on!! ;) :) Yvette :)

I like your story. I'll keep reading it until I get caught up to the last chapter you wrote. Maggie sounds like she might be in trouble. Prayers for her.

Hooray!! I'm so glad you've decided to jump on board!! :) Remember, you're walking into a 'fantasy' novel so you might never know where reality ends and the fantasy begins.... but it's so much fun to follow and see where it leads!! :)

Avery good start to a promising book. The characters seem read and the conversations believable. Poor Maggi getting throw to the curb ;ole by her own father!

I am going to try and read as many of the foregoing chapters I can as this look interesting. I came in on about Chapter 20 something. Now suggestions.... any of this a bit repetitive maybe anything the first time.

She screamed (in)her pain and [her] anger,

I'm guessing Maggie is going back in time maybe. I can't imagine government workers just leaving her. The dialogue is very authentic. Off to read chapter 2.

So glad you're jumping into our Maggie's saga... just be sure to put your fantasy hat on because not much here is actually as it seems... or at least not through the eyes of a muggle (to coin a Harry Potter term)! ;) ;) LOL! Take care! :) Yvette

This work has reached the exceptional level

Oh, Lady Yvette Dear,
This is the sheer bliss of a read ... amazingly captivating -- to the point I became so completely engrossed it was just me and your story, nothing else existed.
It's been a long time since writing took me over this way. You are a marvelously imaginative and creative writer.
Spot-on grammar highlight your work, allowing my mind's-eye to become fully engaged, without the least bit of distraction ... it seems reading time was but a snap!
I'll look for more of Maggie's new world.

Thank you, M'Lady ... big hugs! ~ Richard : )

Oh, my goodness, Sir Richard!! :) ;) You actually read some of my book -- I am so smiling from ear to ear right now!! ;) ;) Thank you and I'm so glad you enjoyed Maggie's beginning... and, wow!, such wonderful stars to boot! ;) ;) Be sure to pop back in once in a while and try to catch up! :) ;)
**My apologies for being so tardy in my reply! I actually managed to post but not much of anything else this week! :( Final exams dominated life (taking some time with tea this morning before life takes over again) and the weekend of moving sons is not finished -- all my grades are in, though - hooray!! :) :) LOL! Take good care and have a great Sunday! ;) Yvette

I think I am out of order here, but that's okay. I enjoyed getting to know Maggie a little better. This was very well written, Yvette, and filled with raw emotions between Maggie and her Dad. Wow. How does one leave their their kid like that? I love Central Park at the Merchant"s Gate. I haven't been back to New York in so long.
All my best,
Sal xo

No, you're not out of order at all as this is the very first one (the prologue) so, if you're trying to catch up, now's the time...... I will not have a chance to add to Maggie and pals for a few weeks: got three graduations, two movings, my youngest son's art show (he's a sculpture) and I'm trying not to think of anything else right now like grades being due or my head might explode!! :) ;) LOL! ;) Thanx for just being out that, Lady Sal -- means a lot -- and I do hope you find the time to 'catch up' :) Yvette
