Wow! Such powerful writing. I'm hooked. Did Maggie go somewhere in her mind or in reality? She seems to be headed for the past with those boys, even though she is still in the present (due to skateboarders) near the park entrance. Very intriguing. A mind can take a person anywhere, and maybe that's what happened due to extreme stress. I can't wait to see what comes next! :)

Oh, Phyllis, you just made my evening! :) ;) I am so glad you're already thinking outside the box cuz there are some things here that may need to be 'thought about' ... :) :) And, although this is just to 'set the stage' for the beginning of chapter 1, it will definitely be re-visited. :) ;) I only hope, Phyllis, I can do this as masterfully as you do...gosh you make it look so easy, but, even after the agonizing decision of posting nearly 1000 words for the prologue, I just know this is gonna be a tough thing to make sure there's a cliffhanger every 600 words or so....ugh! :) ;) Please keep me straight with your honest input and just know that this is the wacky blonde so, it's possible nothing will be as it seems...LOL! :) :) Thanx for your wonderful support and those bright stars! :) Have a great week ahead! :) Yvette :)

So sad!! Very well-written and certainly a mystery - just my cup of tea. I hope there will be more of this story to come, because I will be waiting eagerly to read it. It is always sad when children must suffer this way,

Poor kid. Look forward to seeing what happens to her. This is very well-written with great imagery. Can see and feel her anger and desperation. Good job.

I wanted to yell at the dad to stop callling her "Magpie", as it seems a special nickname he no longer has the right to utter.

And the plot thickens. The caseworker is gone??? Interesting twist. More, please!! TA ";~)

You are so right, Teresa -- no right at all! :) And what do you think about that? Just gone....Gotta work on how to 'split' up chapter one AFTER I finish grading these tests :) :) I promise not to keep you waiting long...thank you so very much for your wonderful comments, stars and, most of all, your support! :) ;) Have a great week ahead! :) ;) Yvette

Wahoo, Yvette!
I am buckled in and ready for the next chapter! What a fast-paced and well-taut and developed chapter! Her father is a weak putz. GAWD! What a horrible man! And I cringed when I read of the seemingly helpful government assistance workers.
So...we are going to be time-traveling, eh? I'm ready!

Thanks so much!

Oh Hooray, Diane - my first book review!! :) And it has a complete set of stars - thank you!! :) :) So glad you enjoyed -- not time travel, per se, just setting the stage for the beginning of chapter one....and, yes, this little incident will definitely be revisited. :) ;) Thanx so much for your enthusiasm -- it means the world to me...just remember to keep the honesty flowing in: the blonde down South does get a little crazy some times...! :) ;) Hold tight! :) Yvette
