Melissa, I must say, your poem reminds me of something I wrote about a rose and I hope to share it someday on FanStory! It literally was a pink rose picture I had with it, snow falls upon it etc.! So I guess great minds think a like? (LOL!) Seriously, this was really well done and well written and I thank you for sharing this.

Hi Kathleen. I really appreciate your review. I adore pink roses... I have my favorite where I can see it all during the bloom season. It is a David Austin English rose called.. Heritage.. my fave. Thanks so much.

Thank you for sharing with me your favorite rose and it's name. I love the smell of the pink rose, so fragrant and beautiful to look at.

Such a lovely poem! "Scented memories" and "rose bush sleeps" are
expressions that make me say "Ahhhh" and smile. Punctuation: The
comma after "but" is not covered by rules. If the poem were otherwise
punctuated, the comma would go after "window."

Hi Melissa, I loved your little poem and it was accompanied by what I take is your favourite Rose. I love roses as well. Here where I live in Spain they keep their leaves on all year and even set new shoots during the winter, but they do stop flowering for a few months. I enjoyed the read. All best. Ulla:)))

My favourite is New Dawn, a climbing rose. A Danish breed as it can tolerate - 20 C/-4 F and tolerates high heat as well luckely for me.:)))

I love the pretty photo you have chosen. It sets the tone for your words. I know how you feel about a favorite flower for garden. It stays so pretty so for such a short period of time with lovely fragrances and softness to the touch. Then it dies off for the long winter sleep. Mine are my Day Lilies. They are beautiful and last well into the Fall. So I take a lot of pictures each year. Well written .

Hi Linda, your love of daylilies is a great choice too. They are such a showy flower and grab everyone?s attention. Thanks for looking at my rose poem. I am grateful.

Your picture choice is beautiful, Melissa. I like the use of 'scented memories.' Good job with the great imagery in your poem. I like 'the rose bush sleeps.' Thanks for haring. Jan

Hi, Melissa,

So many of the gardeners on the site are missing their plants and flowers. I am bound and determined to start a garden this year - I will start with an herb garden in the window - and we will see how that goes.

Beautiful picture of the rose,

~patty~

Thanks,Yvette.. I am very fond of pink roses and thought I would write a verse to them since I am having to wait several more months to actually have them bloom for me.

    All the best,

Well, at least you have the memory. And snow is beautiful too.
I have to say we don't get much over here though.
As you say, your rose bush is sleeping and will be back in spring.
Thanks for sharing.

A very well-written poem about the rose bush that blooms underneath your window with scents in the air. When the snow comes overnight the rose bush dies and so do the roses that bloomed yesterday.
