Mike.
I read the first line and then stopped. When immediately back up to the top to see if this was fiction or non. Whew. Don't do that to my heart, you bully!
The only question I'd have is how did the other boy escape a similiar plight?? YUCK!
Thanks!

I'm sorry for being a bully; I was trying to write a heart-pounding story in 50 words. Evidently, I did, everyone has asked me if it was true or not. Please accept my humble apology.
Have a great day, and God bless.

This is sad. Reminds me of when my daughter died of cancer and we were at the funeral and my husband heard the train whistle. Now every time he hears a train whistle he thinks of my daughter hitching a ride on the train. Was this true about your brother? If it is I am sorry. It is rough loosing a sibling. take care katy

Oh dear, is this true. If it is, I am so sorry. Growing up, didn't we all play on the railroad tracks. My husband and his brothers sure did. One day, the caught a rattlesnake lying underneath the tracks. They bagged him and killed him. Brave boys. You conveyed a lot of emotion and told a sad story in your short piece.Well done!
All my best,
Sal

A warning for all who play or walk on the tracks they are so dangerous to everyone human or otherwise. To many get killed on the tracks each and every day.

I had three people ask me if this story is real. You can't give a fiction writer a better compliment. Many thanks for your support and kind words!
Have a great day and God bless.
