I don't know how you could make something funny about making final burial arrangements, but you did! Cheesy cheap crematoriums sounds like a site to avoid. Great comments about California and Nancy Pelosi. Californians do have a unique way of doing things. Excellent details about the frog fan. Under the tree in a pretty place doesn't sound bad at all. Great work. judi

Such a fun post, Katharine! Did you take your sister in SC about making space for you? I would! I think some states have all these laws and regulations about who/what (even pets) are allowed to be buried on personal property.

You made a sobering topic lots of fun. And I'm with you - let the grandkids have fun looking for money among the books! I would also stipulate that they have to read it to keep the money. Lol!

she suggested it to me. I asked her about the legality of it and she said it was ok.
I actually hid the money in my books several years back, but what's funny is a few months ago I was getting a book down to lend to a friend and a dollar fell out.. Of course, it didn't occur to me at the time to write down titles of books with money in them.. Good idea saying if the kid finds money in a book they have to read it. thanks again for reading!

This piece presents the genuine, colloquial, and straight talk that can appeal to many readers. I like the comical philosophy and perspective of life (and death) here. It must be grand to have a sibling you are able to connect with throughout life.

thanks so much. I apologize for not responding sooner. I was on this site very late last night and thought I had. In fact I remember writing about my siblings in response to your remark, but maybe I was so sleepy it didn't get sent.
At any rate, I AM lucky with my sibs even though we are spread out all over the map. Thanks again for you neat critique.

It is one of the odder conversations to have, but I guess all of us, of a certain age, eventually have them. Me? Strap me to a lawn chair, get a bunch of helium balloons, and off I go (I know - I haven't thought that one all the way through, but then again, I don't have to - I'll be dead.)

I, for one, love the book idea - I might do that with my baseball cards (I don't have enough money to make it interesting.

An amusing story - thanks, and here's hoping it will be many years before you need to put your plan into action.

did you see the movie, UP, a few years ago? Balloons took his whole house up. You might as well think big.
thanks for the good wishes, and my books, actually only have a few ones and fives - maybe a couple of tens.
gotta close - can't stay awake, but thanks again.

This is a very interesting post you have penned. I do not want to be freeze dried at all. Some of the things people come up with are really way out there. I just hope I fall asleep and wake up in the arms of Jesus one day, when He calls me! I enjoyed reading this. love and blessings, Teri
