Your lifetime memories are the same as mine, What a history we have lived through. I found it interesting that you are a fan of our famous American women singers.I guess
I've never thought of their impact throughout the rest of the world. All are food people who climbed up from very humble pasts. This is a nice exercise to help people get better acquainted.

Wow, thank you so much, seaglass. I'm so happy to see you back. Is it more than a short visit this time? I hope not. I hope all is fine with you. All best. Ulla:)))

I'm impressed. You answered questions important to writers. Your poets have meaning for me, also. Burns was a favorite of my grandfather. He could quote so many of Burns' poems from memory. Thank you for answering questions I with which I can identify. Good job.

Thank you so much, Jaye. I'm really glad that you could identify with this. I'm impressed that your grandfather could quote some of Burn's poems. All best. Ulla:)))

My grandfather was a remarkable man. Of course, they used to have to memorize a lot. He could recite Hiawatha. Yes. All of it. Also, Shakespeare by the soliloquy.

Dolly,
This is a good series of lists. *smile* I don't see anything to disagree with and, though I hadn't thought about it, you and I have lived through some rather amazing times, haven't we? Wow.
Some notes:
1.) Kennedy's assa(s)sination.
2.) Still remember (seeing) live on Danish TV as a child
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Robyn, thank you so much. We have indeed lived through some amazing times. I've made the corrections and thanks for pointing them out.
By the way I will have copies made for you about the Titanic. And send it off later in the week to come. Ulla x

What? not even shepherd's pie or cottage pie, or Fray Bentos? You crazy! lol
I do happen to agree with your three country & western choices.
Patricia Cornwell is very good (so is Kathy Reichs)
I hate these lists. lol

Hi Gareth, So good to see you back here. I really don't like sweets, but I love my good and healthy food and a glass of red wine to go with it. I don't live in Spain for nothing. So don't you worry, I fight weight.LOL Yeah, Kathy Reich I like as well. But I read so much so wouldn't know where to stop. I would be on that island for the rest of my life!!!
I just thought to join for the heck of it. No harm done. Ulla:))

It looks like someone is doing another one of those "get to know me" books.
I just noticed a few things here:
My Favourite Poems. - did you mean to say your favorite poets?
Robert Burns
Edgar Allan Poe
Wordsworth
Charles Dickens - here did you mean that you love anything by Charles Dickens or was there a particular one?
Elton John - same thing. You know, my favorite EJ song is "I'm still standing". I love that one! But I do love everything he does :))
hugs,
Carol

Hi Carol, thanks so much, and I've made the correction to poets. Thanks for pointing it out. When I only mention the name of the artist it means I love most of their work. The list would become far too long to mention it all. Hugs back to you. Ulla:)))

You did a good job with the prompt, Ulla. I enjoyed reading your lists, but the font is teeny-tiny and difficult to see. Maybe you could enlarge it. Thanks for sharing. Jn

Hi Jan, thanks a lot. You are now the second ond who's said that. One before you. All the rest have had no problem. I'llsee what I can do. That's strange. All the best. Ulla:)))

Jan, it should be enlarged now. Would you mind to tell me if that is so? When I read it it looks okay. Thanks in advance. Ulla:)))

This addition to the Book of Lists will require a magnifying glass as the text is tinier that the small print on your bank loan.

Interesting items on your list. I see you are into romantic poets, but poets of the long ago. I studied romantic poets in college and consider myself a romantic, but I think one has to find a new way of writing that is more articulate of the contemporary experience and language, the modern images. Yeats and Heaney and Anderson are my favorite poets, War and Peace I think may be the greatest novel ever written. I can't believe you were on the flights that took hostages out of Iran. Amazing the people you meet online. I love pies. Especially apple pie. As for music; the seventies progressive rockers: Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, ELP, UK and Robert Fripp. estory

Hi estory, thanks so much for this enlightening review. Well, when it comes to poetry, I really don't have a clue, but this site has opened my eyes and I'm learning, and now from you as well. Yes, Scandinavian Airlines participated in that rescue. They painted a couple of flights all white so if something happened, their origin couldn't be idetified. One morning I checked in for flight to Madrid, and I was asked whether I would volunteer as it was obviously not risk free. They gave me an hour to decide. After talking to my husband, Tommy, I decided it was the right thing to do. One day, I will write a short story about it, I think.
I also like Pink Floyd and Genesis. All best. Ulla:))

Hey, you never read the poem I dedicated to you, Airports. I think you're the only one who didn't read it. I saw Genesis four times in New York, Peter Gabriel also four times. They were the best. estory

I've only just read your poem dedicated to me. Please see my review which explains how sorry I am. I simply don't know how this have happened. Please do forgive me. Ulla:)))

I'm so lucky to know so many ladies here who have tons of history - interesting history - in their lives. I need to catch up on this but I keep feeling the sort of things I've experienced are far too dull or unimportant.
We share this though:
Patricia Cornwell
Any in the Scarpetta series
Ian Rankin
The Rebus series

Hi Aki, I know you have an interesting story to tell. We all have. But okay, I've been fortunate to have done a lot in all my life. I'm glad we share something in books. We probably share more. There's only so much room in a piece like this.Warm regards. Ulla:)))
