This piece has such powerful imagery and clear emotion. A love poem at its finest. I think it is an excellent entry for the contest. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

You've written an excellent sonnet and entry for the contest
with all of the attributes of a fine sonnet: alternating rhyme, iambic pentameter,
turning Volta, and reflective couplet.
This is very well done and the couplet elevates the emotion.

-A well penned sonnet about this relationship.
-The imagery is effective with
the heat of the summer, the
lightning and thunder as
emotion is sparked, as if
from the heavens.
-I particularly like the
second line of the couplet.

You have written a fine sonnet that meets all the criteria for this poetry form as far as I can see. Good iambic pentameter, sensible rhymes, good turn in stanza three, and good closing couplet.

Hi JM! I don't know WHAT you're thinking! lol If only it worked that way! When we get all hot and sweaty in the heat of a summer night, the last thing we want to be is touching each other and making more heat! LOL, I guess I need to start putting in the A/C!
