Your Author's notes help a lot, in describing the metaphor you are using, to wave goodbye to those who have passed away. I admit I prefer your Author's notes, over the piece, mainly because I understand more clearly what you are saying. The artwork is beautiful and fits the message you convey. The older I get, the more I see those around me passing away. Where I live, in a Senior Residential building, we have folks pass away every so often, and it is disheartening every time. Even if I didn't know them personally. Thank you for sharing this inspirational piece.

What a lovely way to say and imagine it. The word for Spirit is "pneuma" in Greek and it also means "wind" so your poem speaks to me of gentle spirits that pass by and wave using the hands of the trees. What a comforting thought!

You captured the essence of how nature can be a comfort in times of emotion. I myself often see signs and messages in the natural world, so your poem touched me. Your use of language expresses tenderness and combined with the beautiful picture is very poignant.
