If it looks like 6 words, sounds like 6 words and smells like 6 words, then it must be a 6-word poem. Other than a contest, where would a 6-word poem be used? Advertising? Thumbs up to you! TA ":~)

Yes to the contest and the ability to make a little say a lot. The exercise, I believe, is about word choice. Finding a word that replaces a sentence is sometimes important. Nowadays, online readers have a short attention span. Getting something said in five hundred words or less is simply preparing for the readership.

This poem and its attached artwork show that the letter 'f' has many important words that give our life and world meaning. I like the alliteration.

Good luck in the contest.

Keep writing

Joan

To my mind and in harmony with my experience, nothing forms a more lasting bond than shared trauma. Men who experience the threat of death from enemy fire directed in their direction will be forever bonded by surviving that shared experience. That is what I believe.

Yes, Virginia, alliteration is a thing - LOL! :) :) Love that you tied your write into a logo from the USMC -- no, I have no idea what emblem it is, only know that symbol in the middle. :) :) Chosen service - family ties for life. :) :) Wonderful! :) Best of luck in the contest! :) Yvette

Wow, Bill, I liked this six word poem a lot. You say it all in mere six words and you also manage to start all your six words with same letter. I am impressed. Good luck in the contest. All the best. Ulla:))

Well, if this isn't an old Marine Corps vets alliterative wet dream then I don't know what is, Bill.
Semper Fidelis, buddy.
Best of luck to you in the contest.

Extra-ordinary! Terrific use of the f-letter starter.

Like the alliteratives for:

formed forge

freely friendships fraternity

Syllable count 2-1-2-1-1-4. It is unfortunate that 'fraternity' is in four syllables, but that is your choice. 'Firm' could be 'firmer' or 'firming' but methinks that does not work the same for this contest entry.

good luck

I wasn?t concerned with syllables, Mark, but I see what you mean.

You did a great job with the prompt, Bill. I like your formatting of the words and the great alliteration. Your words carry much meaning, too. Good job and best wishes. Jan

Quite an accomplishment to say all that in six words, and they all start with the same letter. Very clever. Good luck in the contest. Love the emblem.

Very attractive presentation. I like your use of alliteration. Will the gals consider it sexist that you use the word "fraternity"? In the military, soldiers definitely are thrown together and know they have to stick together. Those friendships may last forever. Best of luck in the contest. judi

In my military everyone with a commission is called Sir. No one disputes it or protests it. Fraternity is the sense, not the sex.

Just wondering. You know how overly sensitive the politically correct crowd can be. judi
