for the losses of those close to you.
-I like your rhyming couplets with
imagery of the sea and the whales and dolphins.
-I like the color imagery of the sea.
-I particularly like this line:
"the soul of the blue whale, the humpback song"
-The final couplet is a good conclusion.

Mermaids, unlike humans, know to confront the dangers of the sea, but as you write, they too feel sorrow for the loss of loved ones. There is more to them than mere siren songs.

I love the sense of naivety from the mermaid, but also the sense of quiet wisdom. I've honestly never read a 'fantasy poem' so I had no idea what to expect going into it. Life lessons from a mermaid :)
