Wow. Helen Keller's life is truly one to admire. Stories of those who experience such trauma and learn to rise above are so inspiring. Your poetic words bring her struggles and achievements to life! A well-written tribute. Good luck in the contest.

I wish I had a 6! I'll try to do justice to this marvelous poem in this
review. This piece is SO skillfully-written, moving, and accurate.
You have sustained rhyme scheme and meter throughout and so
vividly recorded the life story of a truly unique person.

Thank you so much for this kind and lovely review of my Helen Keller story. I had been inspired when my granddaughter (several years ago - she was then in middle school) had worked on a report about an American Heroine and she chose Helen Keller. She must have been a remarkable woman and one whom would be an inspiration to all. Thank you again for the wonderful review. Have a beautiful New Year!

A very well-written heartfelt and amazing story/poem about the well-known poet and author Helen Keller who was blind and death since a young age and she made it through her life and become an American heroine.

Thanks so much for the lovely review, Sandra! She sounded like an amazing woman and if given the chance to meet someone within their lifetime, she would be on the top of my list. Thanks again and have a beautiful New Year!

You did an excellent job with your story in a poem. I enjoyed reading it although I knew of her story. Your lines flow smoothly with great rhyme. Your lines have a musicality to them. The picture is awesome. Thanks for sharing.

I would shorten the description box info a bit so the word 'heroine' doesn't look like 'heroin.' Maybe leave off the word 'the'. Best wishes. Jan

OMG! Thank you so much for catching that mistake! I've made the change and it should be correct now! I am so happy that you enjoyed reading my story-poem... I was inspired by my granddaughter several years ago when she was doing a report on Helen Keller. Again, thank you so much for the lovely review and especially for catching that error! Have a beautiful New Year!

This is a beautifully written and presented poem about the amazing lady Helen Keller. I would hope that my attitude would be as hers was in the light of her being blind and deaf. Not being able to hear is one thing, but to be blind as well would be devastating. Patricia

Hello Mimi,

I enjoyed this story poem tremendously :) I have always been in awe of Helen Keller. I have read about her, but this poem taught me new things about her. She is very pretty in this picture. Wow, to have met Alexander Graham Bell. That's incredible. I'm going to google her name to check out any images they have of her throughout her life.

Best wishes in the contest. This is an outstanding entry, in my humble opinion.

Sincerely Joy xx

Thank you so much for the lovely review, Joy! I'm so glad you enjoyed. I was inspired to write this when (several years ago) my granddaughter was doing a report on Helen Keller for school. I learned a lot, too, when reading about her and just thought it would be a challenge to put it into poetry form. Again, thank you for the lovely review!

This is an endearing and compassionate write and a great tribute to this lady who lived without sight and hearing and in her silent world had to learn all those things we take for granted everyday, your words are warm and loving and you told the story with empathy and kindness, I wish you luck with the contest, your words are touching, love Dolly x

Hi, Dolly! Thank you so very much for the beautiful review! You are so right...we take so many things for granted... If we could more often put ourselves in others shoes and try to imagine the world in which they live, our lives would be greatly enhanced. Many wishes for a very Happy, Safe and Prosperous New Year!
