Terrific poem Joan. You mastered the prompt and no mistake. Very clever and creative to find those fabric metaphors for love and its many phases. My favorite is as forgiving as spandex. That covers a multitude of sins while still looking great.
Nice work. Stay safe healthy and blessed

I liked the pun of comparing love to cotton, spandex and polyester (lol), depending what stage of your life this love belongs to.
Good humor, imagery and visuals. You rose to the prompt with feet to spare (smile).
Thanks for sharing.

This is a clever and creative poem. I'm impressed at how well you succeeded in writing a poem meeting the requirements of the prompt. Your metaphors are also quite symbolic of the path that love often takes.
I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have come up with anything this good. Nice job.

This poem does succeed in creating some very good metaphors, and you have definitely fulfilled the requirements of your writing prompt. Yes, love can be, at various times, all of those things.

This is a really good one. I've never seen love compared to such things. Sometimes love is like wool, and it gets pulled your eyes from time to time.

I think that was a simile.

Love it! What a great use of all those fabric textures to compare it to the initial passions of first love, the trials of making love work, and the deep comfort of love that lasts through time. My favorite lines were:
" forgiving
As spandex
So it will
Last as long
As polyester."

Hi Dragon,
Ha ha ha. Great poem. I like your use of analogies to compare fabrics to love.
And you're right, flexibility goes a long way to love being more spandex-like. :-)
Nothing amiss here to suggest improving upon.
Thanks for sharing your work,
Jan
