Hello George. Nice to meet you and to read your story. I too worked in the Aerospace industry. I have written and will post a poem about the Nez Perce War this week.

This prologue for Me and You..., gives a good overview of the author and intentions with this lifetime collection of poetic creations. I don't think the beginning and ending years are necessary here, unless the era is obviously connected to the images presented. The reason is that some readers will see a date or a time span and calculate it into his/her acceptance of the text.

I have dedicated myself to completing this collection of Poems this year,
The missing time span poems are written but unpublished as of today's date.

An informative and interesting introduction to your book of poems. A couple of minor points that you might like to consider:
'Nick names' is generally written as one word [nicknames] without a capital letter, and doesn't need to be put in inverted commas.
You use capital letters randomly and it might be better to confine them to proper names like Jesus, Georgie, Little Crow, etc.
"This collection of Poems are Dedicated to my wife Angela" should read "This collection of poems is dedicated to my wife Angela"
With a few minor amendments, this is a very fine preface to your book of poems.
