Hey Yvette.

This is phenomenal. Loved it.

May time's transformational strokes (fantastic metaphor)
touch-up with a tint that evokes
a treasure of triumphs to last (never ending triumphs -- well said).

You have such a wonderful way with words.

One thing:

I was going along with your rhyming scheme even without your explanation. But, while "heart" rhymes with "start," your cascading lines made me stop with my rhythmic beat.

that is, young eyes and youthful heart.

Yardarm raised!

Yoke in hand!
Fresh start!

Just my own personal beef. Honestly, it was superb. I even learned a new word, "Yard Arm.'

This poem, I Wish For You, presented in a unique eight-syllable, ABCCB progressive rhyme scheme, finds the hope of the new year and sends it out to all readers. Nice.

Look at you!! :) :) You have made me smile to know that something good actually came out of my visit to my mother-in-law's this past weekend: this poem!!! :) :) LOL! LOL! :) I started it before we left and used it as an 'excuse' to do something other than 'socialize' a few times so....I'm glad it seems to have worked! :) :) Thanx for your wonderful comments and those beautiful stars, my Canadian friend and, again, Happy New Year to you and Miss Priss! :) ;) Yvette :)

Wise advice ma'am, Negative emotions die quicker when they aren't fueled. Yes, a new year. Your poem is a helpful reminder of healthy choices. I resolved to do better at reviewing. Good friends on FS deserve better than old reviews weeks late! Congratulations on your foundation poem 1st place. Thanks for connecting with me, I enjoy your friendship. Happy 2019
Hugs, Trisha

I sound like a broken record, Yvette, but this is lovely. You have really outdone yourself. Your word choice and rhymes are unbelievably exceptional. I like that unusual rhyme scheme. Plus your wishes are wise and moving. I like "time's transformational strokes". What a poetic way to say time's healing power. This is a very sophisticated piece. I hope that it wins. Surely it will.

Hello again, B'ham Bud! :) So very thankful for those lovely stars and for your encouraging comments -- the crazy blonde needed them today! :) :) You know, I started this before we left, but I finished the majority of it at my mother-in-law's house....great distraction for me and probably saved my tongue from more bruising (from having to be bitten -- wish I was joking...sigh)! :) ;) Looking forward to 2019, MQ -- let's make it an awesome year, huh?! :) ;) Yvette

My tongue stays bruised. It makes my mother feel better to argue with me about everything. She is on hospice, and I still can't hold my tongue half the time.

Thank you for the wish. I could sure use what you offered, "A year of youth I send to you,/ that is, young eyes and youthful heart." I feel the aches of age that run in circles from this mesquite tree. This is a good entry for the Rhyming Poem contest.

Thanx for stopping in, Jose -- I survived my visit to my mother-in-law's with only a few bruises on my tongue from biting so hard...not joking, actually. :) But this occupied a good bit of time while I was there so, it served a number of purposes: distraction for me and a voice of my wishes to all! :) :) I think we all feel those aches ... I look at them such that I'll take them and keep moving because it's better than the alternative of not be able to get out and about! :) :) Happy New Year's blessings from my little corner of the universe to yours, sir -- Happy 2019! :) ;) Yvette

This excellent piece is alive with exuberant descriptions and wishes
for the reader. Your figures of speech are great enhancements
to the message. Yes, let's all embrace the new year with hope and
trust, not held back by past issues.

Yes I think we will all be looking for fresh inspiration and new ways of being inventive with our narrative, and phrases to inspire others into a new, collective dawn. Well done, an unusual rhyme scheme, to tittilate the literary appreciation your artistry in your clever narrative, well done, blessings, Roy

Hi YM,

Great poem.

Liked the pleasure too plentiful to measure.

Right length, good verse structure, good rhyming system.

Great philosophy: it's about what you wish for someone.
About what we are and what we can become.

Loved it.

Thanks.
