What a lovely formatted (shaped) poem of the cross. I love the title, "In the shade of the cross"... Your message of love, peace, and forgiveness explains just have much God loves us. Beautiful!

Great message of the gospel so poetically expressed in your shape poem, Patricia. Perhaps you chose the "shadow" to show us that the Lord's sacrifice is already finished and we can live in its healing shadow.

This is lovely, and a creative use of form to create the cross. It's a very nice spiritual poem. I like the repetition of "in the shadow of the cross." Nicely done.

Hello Pat, your poem, In The Shadow of The Cross 2, is kind of cool. I have never tried to write a Shape poem before. I realize you were probably going for the length of the bottom of the cross but for the 'look' of the poem, I would make the horizontal portion of it shorter entirely. Also I would make the length at the top short and the bottom longer if you can. That way you're looking more like a cross than a plus sign. Your poem is nice as it is but I'm going to recommend the following edit to keep the base of your cross straight. "...in the shadow of the cross we will find God above." The word, "forgiven" gives your cross a belly. :) As this is another form of poetry I have yet to try, I'm going to have to add it to my ever-growing list! Good job!
