You have a vivid use of words that captures the impact and feel of this cyclone. I pray for all in the path of this storm and hope people and animals are okay. Storms can be devastating.

Fortunately there have been only two deaths by silly people diving into floodwaters. The cyclone did a lot of damage 1,000K away from me. The last one in 2013 was devastating to our town. People used boats in our local park and our new Aquatic Centre was flooded. This cyclone is just bringing nuisance rain. Blessings for Christmas, Kay.

this is a tragic piece of poetry dear Aussie! The floods you have in that part of the world is like nature givig back what has been stolen from her. don't play with Gaia, she is in no means interested in losing.
thank you for sharing!
Blessings and a hearty hug!

Hello Rebekka, Thanks so much for reading. It has been scary. Last night up north had 24 inches of rain and of course flooding.
The cyclone has moved out to sea, hopefully it will not gather strength from the warm ocean and come back to land. Who is Gaia? Sounds like a goddess of sorts. Happy Christmas and thank you, Kace.

K, this is an excellent poem detailing how ferocious a cyclone can be.
The description is very effective with the alliteration throughout
adding to the visual of this well thought out composition. It is short and
snappy which gives it a succinct feel. Bravo! ~DD

Very powerful imagery throughout. I live in the US in a Gulf Coast state that was hit by a massive hurricane in 2005 there is parts of the coast that never rebuilt following that. I certainly understand the fury of such a storm and do pray for the peoples safety. Well written poem thank you for sharing.

The author's words were frightening, creative and thought provoking.
Thank you for the author's notes. The poem flows and connects
well. The artwork is perfect as it compliments both the theme and
words of this poem.

Surely we do need to pray for those in harms way from cyclones and hurricanes as they can be so destructive. Have a safe and blessed weekend, Patricia

Hello Patricia, Thanks for reading. This is the worst disaster we have experienced in Oz. Although I am 1000 K'm from the eye of the cyclone, we have had heavy rains and winds. I don't know how much damage up north where it hit. Have a blessed Christmas my friend. XXK.

The real terror of the threatening storm bursts through in this
heart-wrenching piece. I've seen news stories about surfers
out doing their thing ignoring warnings!
