I am glad you were inspired by Willie Nelson's credo to create this poem. I enjoyed your rhymes and your definition of friendship. Here's to harmony! Cheers- Joan

Beautiful inviting piece. I happen to love Willie Nelson as well!
Great rhymes and outstanding closing. I love "Friendship is the result of two people sharing the harmony of life".
Well Done!

Thanks a lot, Brian. I enjoyed trying the Sapphonic Triad form for the first time. It takes a little bit of effort to mull over the theme and then find a quote that matches.... from there it does get easier. I appreciate you taking the time to review it.

LOL! This is a delightful S-T ... probably one of my favorite to date, I would say. They always seem to be of a more 'brooding' nature yet yours makes the reader feel lighter - be thankful for friendship - and simply 'smile'! ;) ;) Love 'you're flute, I'm fife' -- what a wonderful relationship! :) Thanx for sharing - Yvette :)

Great job with this sapphonic triad. I like that quote from Willie Nelson but I like your final tercet better. "People sharing the harmony of life" portrays everything from a happy marriage, good friends and close siblings.

Thank you Helen. Yes, you get it! My focus was on friendships that last.. Willie just supplied a decent quote for me to get started. LOL. I am grateful for your review.

A most delightful sapphonic triad, celebrating the joy of friendship, and a love of music. You inspired me to ask Google to play something by Willie. Instead, I got Glen Campbell's Rhinestone Cowboy -- not really the same. I guess I need to spend money to upgrade my Spotify. Oh well, must be heading off - I just can't wait to be on the road again.

Cheers,
Craig

You are writing way above my knowledge, Melissa. I looked up this Sapphonic Triad and found that it was created by people here on FanStory. I don't really understand the formation. It's OK I guess, but I'm more traditional because that is all that I know.

Well, it is not very hard. It starts with a memorable quote that is less than 17 syllables, followed by a Quatrain that is four lines of four syllables each. Then a verse that has a 8-4-6 syllable count that has an emotive impact. Just a bit of a puzzle to figure out. This was my first one, but I know it is something you can do. Give it a try.

Making music with ones friends is a great time had by all. Nothing like it I am quite sure and making friends for life through many associations keeps one young at heart like Willie and friends.

Thank you very much. I am finding that my poems have recently included nostalgia. I will have to think about that! Ha.
