And you wrote this really well. Bullies are a scourge of school, they are always there and have been throughout history. I have learnt that some bullies have a home life similar to what they inflict at school. They need to feel they are something their family say they aren't. We live in a sad world. Well done with this poem, it shows that the victim can come through and be better than ever. :)) Sandra xx

Hello Sandra. I thank you for your kind comments. I agree, you might be bigger and tougher physically, but are you smarter? Can you survive attacks on your mental capacities? I doubt it, if that were the case you wouldn't be a bully.

Good writing NOMI338...if only those bullied (as well as the bullies) could see past the moment. It's so hard to be in school today, between the bullies and the metal detectors...very sad.

And yet, those destined for success rise above the nonsense, keep their heads down and achieve what they intend to achieve, despite the distractions.

a good tribute to all those bullied growing up, I know I was one of them, part of the reason I quit school in the 10th grade. thanks for the share and have a wonderful day.

I am so sorry to hear that you were forced to halt your schooling. I was not a bully, but my willingness to fight anyone, no matter their strength or size made me not a good candidate to be bullied.

This one carries a great message, my friend and the picture that you selected adds more meaning to your words.

I just saw on the national news this morning where a 9-year old girl hung herself in her home from constant bullying at her school. Just awful.

Happy Holidays...Bill

How sad and so unnecessary. We as adults have to do a better job of giving kids what they need to be able to cope with the nonsense coming from people who feel the need to bully.

Lovely sentiments expressed in your poem. We can definitely rise above adversity in whatever form it comes. And bullying is never acceptable on any level - especially towards children. An uplifting message. Use these experiences as building blocks. Words of wisdom. Thank you for sharing.

Many of the people who today are ultra successful hardly resemble people who were jocks or star athlete when they were young. As for the runway superstar models, many of them were teased because of the very physical attributes that turned them into who they are today. Go figure.

And it doesn't necessarilly occur only with kids. Here in UK very recently there has been a case of a black footballer being racially abused fro the front row of the crowd. Thankfully the abusers were recognised and banned from furher attendance. The nonchalant way in which the footballer concerned simply ignored those idiots earned everyone's praise.

Like in your poem the footballer is probably earning xxx times what the idiot abuser earns so who has the last laugh?

My point exactly. Why would anyone want to place their prospects for happiness in the power of someone who obviously does not know how to ne happy with themselves. If they knew how they would not be wasting their time hating or trying to bully someone.

My mother always used to tell me when I was a young lad that bullies will only bully someone who refuses to fight back. They prey on the weak, meek and those who they feel are inferior.
That doesn't mean we have to take it.
We're all "bullied" in one way or another our entire lives.
Whether it be via nasty reviews here at good old Fanstory, or by a co-worker who feels we're a threat to their cushy position at work.
You just gotta stand your ground, pray for them, and continue to do your best.
Kudos to you for highlighting the plight of the bullied, Nomi.
Well done, and Merry Christmas.

Thanks Dean. I pity the poor fool who would ever dare to try and bully you. Be kind and have mercy on that fool whoever he or she might be.

An amazing and inspirational tribute to every bullied person. Bulling is a very important issue that needs to be addressed more often. Great job!

Thank you so much. I firmly believe that bullying can be conquered by not letting the attempt work on you. Be mentally stronger and tougher. I know it sounds easier than it might actually be, but it can be done.

A very well-written heartfelt and encouraging poem. When we are bullied we often feel it is the end of the world for us, but instead we can take the rocks they throw at us to build bridges where they cannot reach us.

Right you are Sandra. In the same vein as turning lemons into lemonade, take those rocks and build a beautiful castle where everyone will want to come and live.

Only the strong can overcome being bullied by the damn big ass bully. Those who cannot get over it, unfortunately, take their life. I think the ones who bully another no matter what the age should be held accountable for their actions. How would they like to be bullied in the same way back?

I hear that in some cases, the bullies are or have been bullied by someone bigger and tougher than them. This is truly sad, it is like a person who was molested as a child becoming a molester themselves as adults.
