Lovely artwork. It really suits the nostalgic quality of your poem. Quilts are works of arts. They contain a lot of memories. Many of the quilts were made from pieces of clothing that may have been significant to the quilter, and using them as pieces in the quilt helps preserve those memories. Beautifully worded. judi

Very warm and lovely poem, Melissa. The artwork is fantastic. I always wonder about people who keep such tidiness around their crafts, but they do.

A most enjoyable read and many thanks for sharing. :)

Thank you very much Gloria. The art reminded me of most of the women in my family who do wonderful handcrafts.... not me, though, I like to garden... I am grateful for you lovely comments and review.

This is a very poignant piece. It tells a beautiful story in such few lines, but all your words are chosen with precision. I wish this had been a contest entry... it's a winner!

This poem appeals to me for personal reasons, but even if it didn't,
it would deserve a 6. My "woman cave" is in the corner of my
living room--complete with end table, glider rocker, books, laptop,
etc.--no knitting supplies, though! Your poem is heart-warming--excellent.

Hello Janice.... I am so jealous that you have a woman cave. I adore the thought of having a personal... spot in this world... That is what appealed to me so much in this photo. Thanks for a lovely review.

Hi Melissa, oh I love this poem and it just hits home. I can so identify. I inherited all the beautiful antique furniture from my beloved aunt, and I brought it down her to Spain. And I often fit in one particular chair that so much reminds me of her. Your beautiful poem brought all that home. All the best. Ulla:)))

I love your picture, it's so warm, inviting. My Grandma had something in her house minus the lanern of course. The poem itsself is very well-written, Your great word choice paints a vivid picture in the readers mind. Great job as always.

This is excellent. You've described the memories contained in treasured quilts perfectly. That's probably why we hold them so dear. Each word counts in this piece. Great job. Marilyn

Love the image -- it certainly does look like "Grandma's corner". My other half isn't a grandma, but she should be. She is into knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting, weaving and spinning. This is a very pleasing short poem about how images of loved ones form in our minds and stay with us even after they are gone. Well said :)

Cheers,
Craig

Thank you so much, Craig. This image really reminded me of not only my grandmothers, but of several of the women of my family who continually amaze me with their handcrafts. Not me, I am the gardener.... I always look forward to your comments.

Hi Melissa. I hope you are well tonight. Was trying to work tapestry in there but it would interfeee with a quilt. Ha!! I wish I had been able to know one grandparent in childhood. I mean where you go to bed and they're there and there again the next night and so on for a week. We never were invited to visit them. I am glad you had your grandma. Thank you for sharing
