A very well-written 5-7-5 poem. There is a saying that you are nothing until a cat ignores you, I assume the saying about dogs could be, they will not accept you until the have a change to pee on you or your property.

That's a good play on words. I entered this contest because I had a fun animal picture. The photo could win it for me, right: But then I realized that I needed to use a pun to satisfy the requirement. Well that was not that easy. Puns are hard to come up with!
Your pun is great. I love the Howl-o-days. That it so clever. Then, you threw in an extra daze. You went over and above the pun requirement.
I also like your pee on Santa's knee. Don't you know that happens all the time.
This is an excellent entry. I predict that you will do well.

Thanks. I actually got a picture taken yesterday with my dog and Santa. There were many dogs and owners in line and it was fun seeing how Santa handled it to make the pictures cute and fun. Appreciate all your comments and good luck to you.
