A very well-written 5-7-5 poem with great alliteration of 'm' right through the monkeys mop the mud from the floor, the macaw is clearly in charge of the operation.

    Sandra,

Thanks for your generous rating and comments.

Are you familiar with the Blue Spix macaw story that the Rio movies are loosely based on? It is quite an interesting story. In 2019, captive birds (from Europe) will be reintroduced into Brazil. Hopefully, the imported Blue Spix will then repopulate in their natural habitat.

Maybe the illustrated macaw is in charge, even with his moue look. LOL

BTW .... that image is one of the 26 displayed in my e-book, Animals Become Chatty. If you search on Kindle or Amazon books, you can see the e-book's cover page (c-letter) and the back cover (o-letter).

This is a cute, cartoony write that is fun and goofy too. Well crafted with the alliteration of the m words. I love the movie Rio... you make me want to see if Netflix carries it. Ha. Well done on this entry.

    Melissa,

I likely have seen Rio and Rio 2 at least a half a dozen times (with my granddaughters watching with me!). It is a very well done animated movie based on a real story.

Hi Mark.... I will have to look it up. I have seen Rio 1 but not 2. Thanks for the suggestion.

It is very amusing and an excellent display of m words. It is wonderful for teaching children and could be a tongue twister if said fast. I also really like your artwork. Hope to read more of your writing.

    Hi fm !

THANKS for your generous commentary and rating.

The artwork is from my e-book, Animals Become Chatty, published in 2017. I paid an illustrator to show off my alliterations for each letter in the alphabet. Feel free to take a look at the cover and back page via Google/Kindle books online.

I may use other illustrations from my e-book to develop future 5-7-5 verses. Let's see if the FanStory response to the 'm' one raises my expectations for other letters.

In this alliterative poem, poet tries to show an amusing mischief at the instance of a macaw that makes a mouse while the monkeys and mice mop the mud; well said, well done. Keep Writing -- DR ALCREATOR

You are so talented. I love the tribute to the letter "M" you have here. Are you the artist, as well? This is so fun! No wonder your children read with such delight. I will have to get your e-book for my granddaughter. She adores animals.
All my best,
Sally

    Sally,

THANK YIU again for your encouragement.

Sorry, I have no artistic talent to illustrate my e-book. I paid an illustrator to accompany my alliterative ideas. The hard cover is another project yet to be finalized. If you do order, please give me some feedback about you and your granddaughter relate to the images and alliterations. Some of the animals you will not know. I intentionally added some 'strange' animals not typically found in an animal picture book.

    Hi Sally!

If you actually buy the e-book online ($2.99), then you can tell me if I should try other letters for my future 5-7-5 FanStory verses. LOL

BTW ... the actual names at the top of my 'm' letter alliteration page include my daughter and her husband. Sorry, but my artistic talent extends to drawing just stick figures. I paid for someoneone to illustrate my e-book.

I have seen these birds on Isle du Salute, near Devils Island when I visited, such colourful birds and they certainly have their say, a fine write, love Dolly x

    Thanks Dolly for your commentary!

    Per my recent Internet search:

There is an agreement in place to reintroduce the Blue Spix macaw, now in captivity, and return it to Brazil in early 2019 to hopefully repopulate the macaw/parrot in the wild. In 2016, there was a moving picture of the Blue Spix flying in the wild in Brazil.

Excellent alliteration and content, Mark. The 17 syllables are witty and cleverly conceived. There is nothing not to like about Rio, monkeys mopping up mud, or mammals finding time to create mayhem and mischief :) Solid writing, great presentation, fun content, and wonderful read!

    Janelle,

You are into my 'm' alliteration too (!) with your mammals making mayhem and mischief. Had we talked before I posted it, the last line may have become "a-musing mayhem."

THANK YOU for your generous commentary and rating.

A fun write here, Mark -- like your play with the alliterative 'm'. I would only suggest removing your single quotes there in the final line .... really not necessary as it is quite clear what is meant. :) ;) ;) One of those 5-7-5 that really puts a smile on the reader's face ... hope you're keeping a collection of these! ;) :) Yvette

    Yvette,

I edited per your suggestion, but what is your opinion of 'a-musing' versus 'amusing'? It is early enough to make changes again.

My published e-book has alliterative images for each letter of the alphabet. The only text, on each page, tried to give human-language spoken words to one of the animals depicted on each page. So for my 'm' page, I used 'mumbles.' I had to be very inventive on my 'z' letter page; so, I used 'z-z-z-nores.'

Maybe I should change my existing 'Yolanda' to 'Yvette'! LOL

Nah...I'd leave that one and take out the one at the end of the second line. :) ;)
And as much as I would love to have my namesake in your write, it simply won't work in the alliterative sense because it's pronounced as 'E-vet'. But, I'll take the virtual inclusion as a bonus!! :) ;) Take care! :) ;)

Done! Gosh, I was just using the letter and in my rush I forgot the pronunciation of your name. English is such a strange language to master, especially spelling and pronunciation .... LOL
reply by Y. M. Roger on 09-Dec-2018
No worries...I've got folks I've worked with for years that don't pronounce it correctly. :) ;) I quit correcting them....:) sigh. :) ;) LOL! :)
