Cute, cute cute and clever as well. Love it. Aside from writing, it looks like you like to review too. I don't know about you, but I find reviewing helps me with my writing. TA ";~)

    Teresa,

THANK YOU for your generous rating. Unfortunately, the only way on FS to boost your own efforts is to review others. I agree that giving/getting feedback helps to improve our own efforts.

The m-letter has a FS companion with the b-letter. The illustrations for both are included in my e-book, "Animals Become Chatty." I think it appeals to children from ages two to eight or so. The hard cover is not in the works because to do so requires major revisions for an accompanying page to describe the alliterative contents for each illustrated page. To be published made my bucket list. LOL

Perhaps the pernicious parrot pooped, prompting the houseproud primates to pretty up the place. Pooh, they proclaimed, possibly relieved it wasn't a pachyderm.

Some of those animals were considered but the artist who did my illustrations had limited space (-:

Regardless Inaporeciate your alliterative comments. I am personally very proud of your word performance.

BTW ... to extend your alliterative comments, the p-letter in my e-book, Animals Become Chatty, has as its title: "Penny Penguin peeps, 'Pretty piñata.' " Your pachyderm is shown as an elephant on the e-letter page. There are no poops on the page, but there are petunia and pansy flowers.

And in researching all the animals for my book, I rediscovered the two names for camel: Bactrian camel and Dromedary. With the initial letter of each name, you may now know which one has one hump and the other two ... LOL

This is a very cute and very well written 5-7-5 poem you have penned for the contest. I love the art work you used and the descriptive words also. Best wishes in the contest. Blessings, Teri

    Teri,

Thanks, but it is NOT entered in any contest. It was just something I posted on FS. If you have or know young children, ages 2-8, they may like to 'see' my e-book, Animals Become Chatty, which is available from Amazon.

I do appreciate your review of this verse and its illustration.

Hi Mark. I had no idea you were going to publish these on FanStory. I like your alliteration, particularly the little cheat on "a-musing," which worked well. You made good use of the 5-7-5 format, and I like this particular picture, especially the bright colors on the macaw.

    HI Michele!

I did one for the letter b too on FS.

It was likely your inspiration that makes me think of those little cheats. So a-musing can be in your credit column. If you or your daughter have not seen Rio and Rio 2, they are fun movies to watch and enjoy.

    Take care.

That's sweet, Mark, but I give you full credit. I'll have to look up your "B" post, but I'm glad to see you getting yourself (and your book) some more exposure on FanStory. Re: Rio (like that one?), Leah's seen both, and I've seen most of the first one.

My granddaughter is Lea Adi; her identical twin is Eva Sophia. But ' Eva' is pronounced as 'Ava.'

Lea is the lefty; Eva is righthanded. Both are 1st graders now. My daughter chooses to NOT dress them with identical clothes.
reply by Michele Harber on 04-Jan-2019
My Leah is left-handed too. Your daughter is probably making the right choice in not dressing the twins alike. They may not care one way or the other at this age, but they will when they get older. My friend has identical twins as well, now high school seniors. One is named Violet so, to tell them apart, she always dressed Violet in some shade of blue or purple. The one not in blue or purple was Kathryn by default. Now that they're older, they choose their own clothing and the "violet rule" no longer applies.

    Diana,

THANKS for your compliment about the illustration and verse. It was not submitted to any contest.

Take a look at: "5-7-5 (bumblebees buzz by)" posted in December and let me know which is better - m or b? LOL

Amusing. The lines with the repetition of the letter "m" sound like a tongue twister, but without being an expert, this is probably intentional.

    Donka,,
Thank you for your 'mirthful' review. It was not intentionally written to be a tongue twister, but with all those 'm' sounds it almost is (-: If you search FS, I did another for the b-sound.

    Enjoy the upcoming holidays.

Well done, great illustration, actually I thought the other so called mouse looked like our Australian Wallaby. Good luck in the competition and thanks for sharing.
Cheers for now.
Kev.

Kev, Thank you for your thoughts and generous rating. My e-book, Animals Become Chatty, does not have a wallaby, but for my letter-k page it has 'kute-looking' kangaroo. LOL

I agree, my illustrator did a great job displaying my alliterative ideas.

    Enjoy your holidays.

BTW .... About 180 degrees away from my Albany, New York home is your Albany in Australia's south western corner. And your Esperance, Australia is 180 degrees from my nearby Esperance, NY. Those Brits were everywhere.

Thanks Donette for your comments and generous rating for this short verse. While other letters are now on vacation, I had posted on Dec 13th another alliterative poem as ?5-7-5 (bumblebees buzz by)?

Made me laugh and want to be with them all, having fun mopping up mud and making mischief, making the moment marvelous ! Great pic and I did notice the different heads, before reading the author notes.
I believe it is the inner child that keeps us bright and breezy, curious and creative.
The behaviour of the animals around me is often so funny and why I love watching documentaries of the natural world.
I enjoyed reading the author notes too and shall see if I can find the Rio movie on YouTube.

    Susan,

We are both children of the 1940s. Honestly writing my 5-7-5 style verses or Haiku is something that keeps my creative mind filled with a little mischief. I honestly started with a FanStory at the end of October. If you like Haiku, you might be interested in going to a 'free' site, theHaikuFoundation.org. I have had a few of my Haiku posted there in the last three months. FanStory lets me use the 5-7-5 syllable style for the verse you just commented on.

And so good, we take nothing for granted and count our blessings. I like short poems and writing them too - not necessarily easier though to say as much as possible in a few words. Thank you for mentioning the Haiku Foundation. Happy day, Susan

    Gert,

Thanks for your laughs and rating.

As interested, you can search Kindle or Amazon books for my e-book, Animals Become Chatty. If you do, you will see the cover page (c-letter) and the back page cover (o-letter). The entire e-book has animals and the letter alliterations for the entire alphabet.

My verse may be a tongue twister. The very limited text title for each letter tries to give a voice-verb to the animal 'speaking.'
