Hi Tony, this was a wonderful Tanka, such creativity, love the splash of colours with blood red and verdancy's, which then merged beautifully into the last two glorious lines to complete this superb poem.

Smiles and congratulations to you tfawcus for getting your book published.
I really liked these lines in you tanka when a poet gets older-
"poems from an old man's pen
nourishment for unborn years"

Lovely tanka poetry, Tony.
What you stated is true; authors of prose as well as poetry become immortalized, in a sense, when published.
Our written words are an author's legacy--what he or she leaves behind for others to remember them by.
Would anyone be talking about Edgar Allan Poe today had he not been a famous published poet and story writer?
I seriously doubt it.
Nice work, as always.
Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Thanks, Dean. I rather doubt that I'll be immortalised by my verses! Providing a bit of amusement for family and friends will be enough for me. Glad you liked the tanka. A happy holidays to you and yours, too. Best wishes, Tony

My pleasure, Tony.

ah, but it would seem the FS Star bird has been truncated to 5 only these days, even while this and other deserving six works lay in state and hopefully willing to wait for Tom to reload! Excellent work here indeed as always from this great author! HIS GRAYNESS; Vance

Congratulations, on your new book Tony. I'm sure it will be a success based on what i have seen of your poetry on line here.
You have a wonderful cover for this book, first of all. Good start.
I like these infective lines from this one:
"poems from an old man's pen
nourishment for unborn years"
Wishing you total success, my friend. Bob

I enjoyed your tanka, Tony. You did a great job with its 2 'parts.' Your pivot line is a great connector. I like the last 2 lines about the poet's reflection of his work. The picture is a great pairing with your words. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Tony, you are very well spoken and very well read. I believe you've had a good life and with teaching, it's been most productive. Teachers have always been the parents of children when parents are, for what ever reason, not around. You have a very positive perspective of the coming years and with a new pup, joy to come. Best wishes.
