This is a powerful testimony of the healing virtue of love. The love of God and the love of your best friend, your husband. It is written with grace and it touches my heart. To have a partner in life with such pure, selfless love is a great blessing. Thank you for sharing your story and healing Sally.

How did you know this was me? I think you are getting to know me quite well. Jack is a daily blessing to me and a gift from God.

I am honored for the six and such kind words. I appreciate you very much. Thank you for taking the time to review my work.

I went to your profile. I knew about this writing of yours but wanted to take time to read this fiction piece-- no fiction at all, all is true!! And I know in my experience that God is our Healer!!

Beutiful, I love this so much.
I was married to a mean man for 29.9 years. When left him I didn't care if I ever felt anything again. I knew I was broken, an though I had not been physically ill, I felt I had died.
Fast forward 5 years, 28 days and I am alive, very much alive. Love heals me a little more each day. Love heals - it really does. HUGS and sticky notes forever!

Oftentimes, we don't know how much we are loved until we are in need of care. Thank you for sharing your Journey of Love's Healing Process in the form of Love Letters (little notes creates hope for a speedy recovery).

Sally I love how you told us of how love and devotion from your dear husband helped you heal.
I read his love notes that he wrote when you were suffering from the shingles. they were short, but I could see he loved you from the depths of his heart. Gert

What a wonderful blessing to have such a loving and caring husband. I'm sorry that you had to endure the shingles and so many times. Ugh.
This is a strong entry in the Love Letter contest and all the more powerful because it is true.
I wish you the very best in the contest.
All the best,
Jan A.

What does shingles mean/other than interesting first paragraph and beautiful picture. I am sorry about your sickness and I am glad that you have support from your great husband.

Thank you so much for the outstanding review and kind comments. I appreciate them so much. Shingles is the chicken pox virus that attacks you later in life. It can be serve or life threatening. I should probably clarify that for everyone. Thank you.

Sounds like you have been a lucky lady minus the shingles. You and Jack have mastered the art of being grateful, a huge factor in living a happy life. Love the art of the love letter as well. I had shingles once, but only once and getting them in my fifties, they weren't all that debilitating, but yours are horror stories.

Thank you so much for excellent review and kind comments. I appreciate you so much. Yes, I am very blessed, he tells me every day he loves me in many ways. There is something very powerful to it being written down and remembered though. I hope I never get shingles again and I hope the same for you.

Oh what a beautiful and so-very-heartwarming entry to this contest ... it truly shows a couple that lives for each other - that when one is so sick, they are in the loving thoughts of the other at all time....because they BOTH know the importance of writing it down!!! :) ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck in the contest! ;)

Thank you Yvette for your kind words and insightful comments. It throws life out of whack when our spouses or loved ones are sick. Daily kindness and little love reminders seem much more important. I am glad you could appreciate my piece.

This definitely deserves a six(*). This is a beautiful example of loving kindness within a marriage. Those little pieces of paper would be your most treasured possessions.
Getting shingles repeatedly is something out of the ordinary to me. I had them once, just a small outbreak on my tummy for which I immediately went to the doctor for treatment. It stopped in its tracks and I was over it in a week or so. Believe me that was traumatic enough, so to go through what you've experienced must have been
"off the scales." Do you know there is a vaccine for Shingles now? I expect you do, but I thought I'd mention it, just in case. Your dreadful illness must have been harrowing, but it was alleviated in a small way by your husband's devoted care.Lucky, lucky you cheers Cass

Thank you so much for the kind review and comments. I appreciate them so much! Yes, I went to the doctor and he said I have an overactive immune system and more than enough of the shingles virus already present in my system. He said no to the vaccine. I found some natural anti virals I stay on all the time that help. Stress can aggravate any disease or condition so I try to not let things stress me out as much. I am blessed with such a loving husband !
