I must confess, as a semi-literate Yank, I enjoy the UK English...coming in in the middle, I only catch bits of the tale(my head is still swimming from reading Heinlein's ALL YOU ZOMBIES) but you do write smoothly.

Only found the little nit above. As usual, this was an exceptionally good chapter. Your emotional descriptions are wonderful for visualization for a reader.Wish I could do as well. I have trouble with that.

Poor Mildred. She's probably wondering what happened to Veronica. Scary stuff, this time travel.

The fact that Mildred hadn't done her usual and made breakfast for the children, made a sliver of fear <-- Remove the comma. It separates subject from predicate. Fact | made = subj noun | pred verb.

What can we say about this one except we are happy She is home but very sad Mildred is not there with her. Why couldn't they be sent back together I wonder? The powers that be are not very powerful if they could not manage that! Did Veronica even get to read the newspaper? What can she do to retrieve Mildred from the past? Scary! xxx Nancy:)

Wow! Have you lost Mildred? The thought of her working in a factory to keep the commune for old people at bay, will have her fans screaming at you. I know Veronica won't let that happen, but I'm not sure how she can do anything to help. Those 'powers' seem to be in control of everyone's destiny.
