Your well-written poem succeeds in hitting some high (and low) points
of the quickly dying year. What a year this has been--such chaos . . .
yet some are concerned about whether "Baby, It's Cold Outside" is played
this Christmas!

You're right, Bill, sometimes you just gotta laugh at the whole shebang. (Oh, no. I will get in trouble for saying "she-bang!")
You just know there is some idiot hateful feminist out there that would make something of that, and I hope she'll learn to calm down and have a beer.

Very cool. You made a very good poem out of our nation's precarious predicament. It had all the elements Ilook for. It rhymed, it made sense, and it made me laugh. Great job!

Hi Bill, so this year ends with the world on the brink. Yeh, it does feel like that, doesn't it? It is certainly and uncertain and unstable time we live in. I liked your poem a lot. No, it's not gloomy, it's realistic - unfortunately. Merry Cristmas. All the best. Ulla:)))

Hi Bill. Every week, some news story comes along and I say "finally they're going to prove trump committed treason. I know he did and is also head of an organized crime family. Then I get depressed because he has formed a cult of people who believe all of his lies. Now they are trying to convince witnesses not to talk to the FBI because they will be tricked and charged with lying even if they tell the truth. I think I will have to leave this world if he survives to win in 2020. Propaganda. Russian propaganda. So sad that it is working. Thank you for sharing

My last year of teaching I used George Orwell?s 1984 to compare those warnings with ?alternative facts?, the ?Ministry of Truth?, and ?Big Brother?.

Yes, I know. It is scary. Maybe we need a timeout on social media. The far right is not giving up.

Hey old friend. You may yet prove to be a prophet. You speak words of truth and my ears ring with delight. Here in this desert filled with lies and deceit, it is most refreshing to read words that resonate and resound with truth. Speak on good speaker, speak on.

I'm a big fan of Trump for all he had DONE, and so quickly. Things I longed to see, such as veterans getting better medical care, more oil drilling here, the pipeline, border wall (if Congress would stop obstructing), tax breaks that created record new jobs, economic gains for minorities best EVER, and on and on. He probably only sleeps in the limo on the way to the airport... what energy!

Anyway, back to the poem, really well done in every way. I may not agree with your political views, but who couldn't love this masterpiece? Good job, Bill. :)

Well constructed work. you touched on many new gadgets available to us today. you also included the latest news. All with tongue -in-check I think. Then you clarified it with your postscript. "Why so serious?"
Liked it.

Sometimes, it sure looks that way, that the world is "on the brink." You covered a number of the current events of 2018 and gave us things to look forward to in the future. You're ahead - giving us a New Year's poem before Christmas.

Just needed to remind people that, aside from all the drama, there was trauma. (Hurricanes and fires)
