We are having bad fires in California but these fires appear to be so strong. You poem has a vivid use of words that gives me chills. I feel bad for all that is lost and prayers are sent.

Hi Aussie, a well written poem on a grim subject - it seems the whole world is going crazy, fire, floods, earthquakes, but you write about the dreadful fires experienced in Australia. It's apocalyptic.! Your rhyme and rhythm are excellent and your poem well describes the situation. Good accompanying picture. Good luck in the contest. Warm regards Dorothy x

What a disaster Kay, it is always bad when fire takes control. It is happening in several areas around the world. Perhaps mankind has finally doomed itself. I feel for the animals that are confused and die. I will pray for rain for all the fires. Good luck.

Exactly what has been happening in California. How sad.
We have just been blessed with snow. I think I will quit complaining about any form of moisture. We do need all we can get. God bless you all and keep you safe. Good Job Kay. Nancy:)

Hello Sugar-glider, Yes, catastrophic conditions, 100 fires out of control and heading for the coastal strip. The heatwave is incredible. Prayers for those caught, so far, 800 homes lost. God only knows what it will be like when we get the fires under control. At least the Govt. has promised funding. Love, platypus. XX

Just drove through paradise California-it won't be living up to that name for quite a while. Looks more like a war scene after the battle. Nice poem. Keep writing.

I believe your California fires are bad. Australian fires are burning on 100 fronts and heading for the coast. Never seen this before, Eight hundred homes destroyed. Pray for us please. XXK.

Australia has had a terrible time with fires. Is this continuation of last year's fire? California just had a horrific fire but it is finally contained. I cannot imagine the terror of being in the middle of Australia's fire. I will pray for some relief soon, Excellent poem that describes the horror of this fire perfectly.

How awful! I wasn't aware that things were getting so out of control with these fires in your homeland! We were so focused on what's going on here in California. Such a waste of lives, human and animal, plus resources. It will be hard to rebuild even when it's under control. Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends in Australia.

Hello June, Have never seen catastrophic conditions like this in my lifetime. Eight hundred homes lost so far and they don't seem to be able to bring 100 fires under control. Thank you for thoughts and prayers. Love Kay.
