I like how you use Nature's events to show us the cycle of destruction followed by constructive beginnings like the "brand new logs." Great display of motion in the painting!

Thank you Helen for another wonderful review
Comment from Bill Schott
This 5-7-5, Swollen River Rage, has the proper set up and captures, along with the painting, the power and destructive force of this overfed river. Nice.

A very well-written 5-7-5 about the river that swell twice its size and become a devastating flood that uproot trees and swept them away in the strong current of flooding water.

Hi Pam. Raging water is a fearsome thing. We don't know its power until caught up in it. This is a very good poem as well as the art to accompany. Marilyn

This is direct and to the point, with a very clever culminating line. Your descriptive adjectives and verbs are very vivid ("swollen," "rage," "drowns," "uproots"), and add power to your poem. Good luck in the contest.

We've had some Antarctic storms in what is supposedly our summer recently Pam. Some of the streams and waterways in our state should be like this at the moment, I love your 5/7/5 combo of painting and poem, well done, blessings, Roy

This could be classed as a haiku if you changed 'making' into makes. That would create a cut off or kireji at the end of line two. the third line is an excellent satori because its optimism offers an unexpected conclusion, a typical piece of enlightenment..
