HELLO PAM: The way you have played with reality here is okay. That's what painting and writing is all about. It takes your reader's imagery beyond the norm. This kind or work is what expresses your unique way of expressing real life. This is where, Pamusart is outstanding. She is being, Pam. And that's okay with me. God bless you Pam. I enjoyed how you used the term oxymoron in the third line. Your painting is lovely. I liked the use of the bright colors--the impossible and play with the reality of nature. Your painting and poem had a playful, storybook quality.

And the sunflowers have turned their backs on the sun, which they never do. They seem to be getting ready for an early start tomorrow. 'Oxymoron makes a good pivot but less so a satori as it follows so logically from the first two lines.

Hi DonandVicki. Yeah. Van Gogh is my favorite artist by far. I want to do a vase with sunflowers in honor of him. I fooled even Van Gogh aficionados that one of my paintings was his. I posted it before I knew you. It is called ?The Joke?. The aftermath of the punchline. Here is a link to it. Some believed me. Heehee. Thank you for another lovely review

PLEASE let me get a look at it, Is it in your portfolio? Let me know if you ever want to sell another painting. Don

You might be surprised! There's a man in Providence who decided that this empty lot that had been there for years was just an ugly eyesore. Last summer he planted Sunflowers, the whole field full. You could see it from the highway and all over the place. It was beautiful. Like your painting. ð???

We had sunflowers on our property when I was a kid before the fire burned everything down. Thank you for your lovely review
Comment from Sandra du Plessis
A very well-written Tanka. The pink skies are beautiful at sunset. The sunflower fields are a great contrast against the pink skies and the orange sun low in the sky.

Comment from Gloria ....
And so right you are, Pam. This is a terrific pairing with your artwork, oxymoron is a fine satori. It does make for some lovely art work and poetry though.
Another excellent piece here. :)

The scene may be impossible, but one never knows. I like the image created in your words and the poem is warm, it adds beauty to the arrival of cold winter. I also like your painting.

True, true...bright sunflowers mid a backdrop of Lucious pink, LOL...but, hey, it could happen, right? Just look at the painting. Good use of the tanka format and satori. The beginning and ending lines work well together so...as you put it, it may not happen in real life, but that's what imaginations are for! Yours works wonders and is so very inventive. Love this one.
