So thought-provoking, and, most of all, so true. A perfect aabb poem. I love the subject. Life and death are important subjects to me, and you did a wonderful job covering both topics in your poetry. Great work!

Thanks for the encouraging review.I think sadly that most people get the message when it is too late. Funny that you see people with everything yet never satisfied. Cheers, j

I admired your interpretation of the "time" prompt and your rhymed couplets form. (I believe the first line should use the verb "lies".) The ironic conclusion is very effective. Best wishes in the competition- Joan

Health is not a commodity, true enough. The wealthy and poor suffer, not equally, perhaps, but immunity can't be purchased.
Many people achieve great service through there wealth. We mustn't malign the wealthy stereotypically. Wealth is not a stigma. Greed is.

Thanks for the insightful review Lee. This particular man did not 'purchase' the true luxuries in life like family, true friends, well being and real peace of mind. With time running out he realizes the shortcomings. I am sure countless wealthy men are satisfied, but maybe sacrificed something along the way. Cheers, j

I love the thought behind the poem and the way things work out in the end. People are sometimes like this. They think about money and all they can acquire when they are young and healthy. Things change and you can't buy good health.

Thanks for the encouraging review. Yup, that's the story. It must be sad to have everything except for the one vital piece that makes it worthwhile. Cheers, have a great week, j
