Wow! Contestant & Cheers:
>I've know of close friends and acquaintances that want to tear their brains out, as somewhat like you.
>your intense descriptive imagery and metaphorical expressionism set the tone for this acrostic poem.
>I must admit that your approach of a run-on acrostic may seem to be A little lackadaisical and yet, The conceptual theme is quite intriguing, powerful, painful and empathetically grasping at heartstrings, especially mine. For I watched, in Helpless agony, as a friend went through that horrible nightmare for 3 days.
> Good luck in the contest and take care and have a good one especially with all those that love you dearly.

Thanx so much for stopping in for the read and review, Alx -- greatly appreciated! Actually wrote this in the throws of one of these monsters, but needed to do something other than just 'hurt'...ugh. Not even a real fan of acrostics normally and know this was 'out of the norm' for the ebb and flow for one, it just seemed to work in conveying everything!! :) ;) Be sure to stop by any time and have a great week! :) ;)

Hello author
With me just looking at the graphic gave me a headache trying to figure out what in the world is, one thing for sure you know how to describe in your acrostic poem what a severe
MIGRAINE actually feels like
best to you in this prompt contest.

Ms. Y.M. Roger,
Your poem is something that I know far too much about. I think it is spot on. I am just learning the dances and the Acrostic Poem is one I am certainly interested in. I found this particular one to speak to my soul, as I have suffered immensely for years from migraines. Luckily I went to a neurologist earlier in 2018, and she was able to find the answers we needed to help mitigate them, after years of taking different medications and side effects. If it wasn't for my persistence of long time suffering, I wouldn't have the skills to know exactly how each line is specific to the condition. The picture right away was something that expressed an aura that people who have never had a migraine, have no tangible idea. I hope you don't suffer long or at all, but if you need any further discussion on what I did for my follow up - I will be happy to offer my information. Also your poem was thoughtful, colorful and I really appreciated that someone did poetry specific to this ailment. Thank you and I look forward to reading more of your poetry. Thank you for stopping by, Fonda, and thank you for the honor of those lovely stars!! :) ;) You've managed to start my week off on a wonderfully positive not and for that I am grateful! Also, the twinges of the end of the migraine are all that's left from a lost weekend, but I always rejoice when it's gone! :) ;) I am glad to hear that you got yours under control -- I only very, very rarely get them now since that magical thing in an older woman's life called 'menopause'! :) ;) Be sure to stop by any time as you are always welcome! :) ;) Again, thank you for sharing and for those shining stars -- you be sure to have a wonderful week ahead and Happy Thanxgiving! :) ;) Yvette

I am getting a migraine from looking at your illustration (-;

For sure, your verse imitates the feeling of a migraine (attack).

In reading your poem, the words that pressed especially on my brain include:

cracking
nerve
pain
stimulation

I am a migraine sufferer and can completely relate to this one. Those colors, if I had one, would definitely cause my head to pound...excellent presentation. The font/color choice are great, the words are crafted generously, while the image adds to the overall effect intended for the poem. Great job granting the reader a glimpse into our world, dear. Yes, all can be to blame, yet nothing ... sometimes they just come out of the blue :(

Good luck in the contest with this excellent acrostic.

Your choice of artwork shows closely what a Migraine feels like. Your "MIGRAINE" Acrostic Poem consists of a one stanza, eight line poem with nine syllables per line in what seems to be Amphibrachic trimeter. It seems that each line begins with an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed syllable and then another unstressed syllable. Since there are nine syllables per line, this creates three metric feet per line - trimeter. This, too, sort of describes the disconnect that a migraine creates. You have done well and the artwork from hiveminer.com completes a 'poem card' that depicts the suffering endured during a migraine. Thank you for sharing and for allowing me to review your work! tkbrown

Hi

Excellent written acrostic poem. Even with a Migraine you can still write. Not me. I'd be lucky to string two lines together.

I would make the green font a different colour as I it's hard to see.
Great job and Good luck in the contest.

Regards
Tia

Hello!
Your acrostic poem is well-crafted and upbeat regarding a subject that is anything but upbeat. I have never suffered from a migraine headache, but I know they are excruciatingly painful. Your poem would serve well for one who suffer from migraines. Best wishes!

You make me hurt. I don't have migraines, but I know people who do. They are really bad, really painful. You have done a nice job on your acrostic poem. You even managed to get in a bit of rhyme. Good job.
